Send a text or comment!MY NEW NORM Podcast- S1 E13 / BONUS EPISODEHost: BARRY SCOTT YOUNGEpisode: A PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAINThanks for going the extra mile and joining me for today’s Bonus Episode.  I wanted to take the time to share with my listeners a bit of the behind-the-scenes info from this first season.  If you missed the first episode – just a bit of background on why I started this podcast.  I suffered a major stroke in May of 2020.  It left me without use of my right side and impaired speech.  Happy to report that I can walk – mostly with a cane...but won’t be running any races anytime soon.  I still don’t have use of my right arm and hand but am doing my exercises if only just keeping it from atrophy.It’s my new norm.  People can probably tell my speech is somewhat impaired, andhonestly, that’s been a hard one for me.  The podcast has not only given me purpose and keeps me busy, but it’s been really great in getting me use to hearingmyself speak and probably has helped improved my speech as well. So those are the reason’s I started the podcast, but wow, what a huge benefit it’s been to me relationally.  The people I’ve asked to share have all had significant events or changes they made that impacted their life...it’s real stories from real people.  What you may not know is 90% of these folks I’ve known for a long time...some decades.  Hearing their stories – most of which I had no idea of - and reconnecting with them has been one of the greatest gifts I’ve received.  A huge thank you to all of you who stepped up and shared your story.  You may not knowwhat an encouragement you’ve been in countless people’s lives. Speaking of that...a few of my faithful listeners jumped on and recorded what their favorite episode of the season was.  It certainly doesn’t cover everyone and how impactful these have been, but it was fun to hear their feedback.  We have listeners from everywhere and every walk of life...16 different countries, in fact. I’m blessed to have you share in this journey with me...and the journey so many people have made to grow, adapt, accept, thrive, and change...Everyone has a story.  So, get comfortable or turn up your radio while driving or jogging and join me in Season 1’s, peek behind the curtain Bonus Episode.   See you in Season 2! Support the showmynewnorm.buzzsprout.com/ / YouTube.com/@mynewnorm
