hello welcome back to another episode of broken record minus ellie i'm your host and today we're going to be talking about billy eilish's episode on my next guest so my next guest needs no introduction with david letterman is a netflix series hosted by david letterman and is so cool and so interesting basically he just interviews celebrities but the interviews are like an hour long 40 minutes long and he is very respectful of them which i love because i think it just makes the interview so much better and it's just so interesting to see celebrities talk about things that normally they would be uncomfortable talking about but david approaches it in a way that they aren't and it's really cool so anyway billy eilish is on she's the first episode of the fourth season which came out i believe like a week and a half ago i might be wrong on that but pretty recently and i watched the episode and i thought it was really good and so i wanted to talk about it so this episode is just it's very cool because it's like taking a step into billy's mind which is incredible um they go go-karting which is really funny billy and her family go with david and it was really funny because billy likes to go really fast and like bump into david but something that i thought was really cool in the episode is billy brought david to her brother phineas's house and and he has a studio in his house where billy and phineas create their music and so he was showing david um the track for happier than ever and how there was like 87 different takes just for like the first part of the song and it was so crazy to me because they were playing it and you can't even tell that it's like different takes like it just flows so smoothly it was really crazy um it was so cool no but it was it was just so cool to watch and um there's like different parts of the episode so like or different settings i guess like one of them was the studio with phineas one of them was go-karting and one of them was at someone at david's house i don't know that's it was in a house setting um i don't know if it was billy's or david's or a fake house that they built but it was really cool so this episode was super interesting billy talked about like imposter syndrome that she had which is a very interesting concept to me where she explained it like she feels like she's been faking being famous and she's been faking being famous to the point of she actually became famous i don't really know how to explain it because i've never had imposter syndrome but it's a very cool like interesting concept to me something that billy also talked about kind of relating to imposter syndrome that really interested me is that she talked about award shows and how like when she got these all these amazing awards they kind of made her like lose their value like she didn't think as valuable as them anymore um and she said this which i think is really interesting what it does to a kid is makes a kid go oh so these words aren't like if they're giving up to me then they're obviously not that valuable um yeah i thought that was really interesting um i also love david letterman's voice i think that his voice is so cool you search like a radio voice like it's just so soothing and so nice i love listening to it but that's that's not what we're here for we're here to talk about billy's episode um but it was really good it was really interesting yeah all in all this episode was really interesting and i it's these types of like interviews and things are always so interesting to me because they kind of feel like they're behind the scenes almost like because i always i forever i've always thought that there's so much more to an artist or a musician or whoever and like the work they put out and the marketing they post and whatever curated image they want us to see and so i think i always just like had wanted to like understand like the real person behind these like incredible works of art and so episodes like this or interviews like this or whatever it may be always just like fascinate me because you can tell that like the artists are being genuine and they're like talking about what they love to do and it's so cool i really really recommend watching this episode if you can um it's so cool but anyway thank you so much for listening to this quick little episode on broken record i'm ellie i'm the host it's we're on every tuesday at 6 p.m on 889 the bridge and if you can't make it then that is a-okay you can search up to my age broken record on any podcast streaming platform and you'll be able to find me in all previous episodes and you can listen to them which is super duper cool so yeah thank you so much for listening to 889 the bridge
