My Outdoor Joy with founder, James Smith

Segment 2, October 5th, 2024 Growing up in New York!  Going to college in Boston!  Taking on a Thru Hike in 1991!  James Smith has quite a resume of outdoor accomplishment & adventure in his career.  However, what led him to lead one of the hottest new businesses in the Charlotte-region.James Smith started MYOUTDOORJOY a year & ½ ago & it has enjoyed a large amount of growth in helping people be outdoors, learn, & enjoy travel and adventure via membership. Show Notes: Smith is a self-described outdoor geek that has taught people for decades as a passion People aren’t exposed to the outdoors due to changing cultural, situational, & generational circumstances. Those under forty-five are not exposed to the outdoors & youth today play video games & don’t evolve those skills Women are signing up with the company at the highest number due to a newfound declaration of independence Pursuit of recreational knowledge also brings forth real-world skills of survival Knowledge prevents bad experiences in the outdoors Smith touts MYOUTDOORJOY’s experience, certification & reputation  End of September is archery season in Wyoming, followed by rifle in the early days of October.  These seasons include white tail, mule deer, and elk. Things You’ll Learn by Listening: MYOUTDOORJOY was named because of the recognizing the spread of Smith’s happiness & joy being spread to subscribers and members in learning and experiences outdoors.  The goal of building a bridge across to all sorts of people is part of the company.
