My Profession of Faith at 15: Was It Real?

At 15 years old, I made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. I believed I was saved. I believed everything was settled. But as time went on… a question began to rise in my heart—was it real? Many people rest in a moment… a prayer… a decision… a baptism… or church involvement. But the Bible tells us to examine ourselves, whether we be truly in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Jesus said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven…” (Matthew 7:21) This message is a call to move beyond outward profession and come to genuine saving faith in Christ.
