My Reaction To Jim Harbaugh's Potential 4-Game Suspension | Michigan Football 2023

Michigan Football's head coach, Jim Harbaugh, will face a potential 4-game suspension due to Harbaugh allegedly lying to NCAA investigators. The great irony of this, if the suspension is served, is that Harbaugh is being punished for lying to the NCAA, not necessarily for the recruiting violations that caused the investigations. My reaction to all of this is pure shock, but little concern. I did not think that the Michigan Wolverines would face any punishments, and if they did it would be a petty fine. This, however, seems to be a power move by the NCAA. Also, I suspect there is a reactive element to this, as Jim Harbaugh refused to collaborate with the powers that be when he was confronted. As a Michigan fan, I hope the allegations are false and the punishments are eased and/or dropped, but if Harbaugh did lie, then he is wrong for doing so and he punished his school because of his action. However, the four games for which Harbaugh would theoretically be suspended are East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green, and Rutgers, all are home games against opponents that Michigan will be double-digit favorites against. Regardless of whether Harbaugh is suspended or not, I expect this team to be 4-0 entering the Nebraska game, and 5-0 entering the Minnesota game. I have this team as 2023's best College Football team, and I expect them to achieve at an elite level in the face of any kind of adversity. Harbaugh is a great head coach, and great head coaches learn, adapt, and do better next time. Regardless of what happens, I expect Harbaugh to learn his lesson on diplomacy and for the team to crush its competition in September.
