My review and analysis of The Golden Glove (2019)

…and looks more like a photo from my seedy local German Stammtisch than from a movie… but trust me, the movie is deeper than it looks…And as for the thing with the curtains that I talk about; yes, I realize that in the screenshot I chose as the background image for my audio podcast, the curtains are a bit more open. But actually that doesn’t contradict my theory, it reinforces it. Cause this is the scene with the lady from the Salvation Army. Most of the time the curtains are closed. But when she comes, the curtains are open - giving them a chance to finally see the light so to say.BTW: the movie is on Netflix (at least as of my writing this and in my area) so check it out - but be warned - it really looks realistic, raw and is disturbing and hard to watch and is the exact opposite of a polished Hollywood movie glorifying violence. It’s violent but the violence is portrayed as being as disgusting as it is in real life.And to give you an even better impression of what the movie is like, here is the trailer. But as I already mentioned in my audio, the pretty teenager with the sausages is a red herring - she hardly even notices his existence and they never really interact - so keep that in mind. Cause the trailer especially tries to mislead you with this into thinking this would be a “normal” slasher movie and she would be the heroic and beautiful “final girl” that defeats the killer and survives, when he never even attacks her.
