Yesterday, about a week after Scruggs' resignation, Michigan Football announced Lou Esposito as the new defensive line coach. Esposito previously was the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Memphis for a few months, and from 2017-2023 he was the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for Western Michigan Football. Having developed Andre Carter and Braden Fiske, who are expected to be drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, Esposito has a proven track record of development along with coordinator experience.
