The leader of Myanmar's military junta,Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was officially elected as the 11th President of Myanmar on April 3, 2026. This move is seen by analysts as an attempt to legitimize his military rule under the guise of civilian rule after five years of ruling the country through a military council since the 2021 coup.
