Birgit wird als eine fürsorgliche, und verantwortungsbewusste Frau beschrieben, die alles für ihre Familie getan hätte. Nachdem alle Kinder nun erwachsen waren, plante die 58-Jährige die Trennung von ihrem Ehemann. Laut einer guten Freundin, soll Birgit Tage vor ihrem verschwinden Nervös in Hinblick auf Gespräche mit ihrem noch Mann gewesen sein, in der Nacht zum 27.09.2018 ist sie dann verschwunden. Der Fall gibt in vielen Dingen Rätsel auf, mehrere Ausweise, fast 5000 € Bargeld unter der Matratze und Mantrailer Hunde, die in ein Jagdgebiet der Familie führten.
