Myths and Half-Truths About EgoAired Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 8:00 AM PST / 11:00 AM ESTThis week on It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, Dr. Nick will discuss several myths and half-truths about ego which contribute to misunderstanding and underestimating the profound and pervasive impact this energy can have on our human and spiritual wellness. These include faulty notions that: 1) Ego has an intellectual capacity and is capable of telling us what to think about ourselves, others, and God, 2) Ego has an intentional quality and has darker intentions that can become our intentions, 3) Ego can only have a negative impact on our life and never serve as a positive influence, 4) Ego can only chain us to the past or have us preoccupied with the future, while never allowing us to live fully in the present, and 5) Ego must be dissolved, disowned, and defeated, rather than being healed by us.During the program, I will discuss each of these myths and how each of them are misaligned with the true nature and purpose of our ego. A purpose which includes promoting our survival and optimal living when our ego energy is healthy and in-balance.
