USCIS has just released a new policy memorandum (August 2025) that changes how officers evaluate Good Moral Character (GMC) in naturalization cases. In this video, I break down what the new rule means for you:✅ Why even minor offenses like repeated speeding tickets may now affect your citizenship application✅ How USCIS officers will use a holistic, totality-of-circumstances approach when judging GMC✅ Examples of both negative factors (traffic violations, unpaid taxes, child support issues) and positive factors (volunteering, caregiving, education, stable work, tax compliance)✅ How rehabilitation can help if you’ve made mistakes in the pastThe message is clear: it’s no longer just about avoiding serious crimes — you’ll need to demonstrate that you’re a responsible, contributing member of your community. If you’re planning to apply for U.S. citizenship, this video will help you understand what to expect and how to prepare.
