N55: A Conversation on Diarrhea and Well-indicated Remedies Part 2

Today we pick up the conversation on diarrhea and homeopathic remedies that can be well-indicated for diarrhea and other related symptoms. Once again we need to remind ourselves that the patient should come with to us with diarrhea being the chief complaint as most often it does come with other symptoms that become the totality of symptoms, but we do need a chief complaint and the prescriber should not choose one of the symptoms to be the main one when the patient is complaining about something that is bothering them.  For any first aid, there needs to be more than just one symptom, and it is the homeopath or prescriber’s responsibility to be unprejudiced and allow the patient to reach these experiences they are exhibiting.  So, if a patient says they have diarrhea, then the remedy should focus on it if the patient is doing so, but also include at the same time the other symptoms of the patient – the experiences of the patient that are strange and peculiar and that together with the chief complaint allow us to better understand how the patient is coping and what they are experiencing that needs to be included in the choice of a remedy.  There is no diarrhea remedy, despite the labels that say otherwise!  There are remedies that have keynotes, but they need to be chosen homeopathically!
