Acht jaar na de Europese titel van Sanne Keizer en Madelein Meppelink heeft Nederland weer een nieuw duo met Europees goud. Katja Stam en Raïsa Schoon wonnen zondag het EK Beachvolleybal in Polen door in de finale het Spaanse duo Izuzquiza/Moreno met 2-0 te verslaan. Na al eens EK-zilver en -brons te hebben gepakt, viel alles dit jaar op z'n plek. Voor Katja Stam is de titel des te bijzonder, want vorig jaar stond ze bijna het hele jaar aan de kant met een rugblessure. We gingen erover met haar in gesprek.
