De klimaattop in Bakoe was geen succes. Terwijl we nu al aan een opwarming van anderhalve graad zitten wereldwijd, werden toch geen nieuwe afspraken gemaakt om minder afhankelijk te worden van olie en gas. Ook diplomatiek bracht Bakoe allesbehalve een doorbraak. Alle hoop is dus gevestigd op volgend jaar, de klimaattop in Brazilië. Al laat de geopolitieke situatie (en de verkiezing van president Donald Trump) niet meteen het beste hopen. Een lichtpuntje toch: het had nog veel erger gekund.
