Episode 51 Nadine Madger Part 1 of 2 In January 1980, Nadine Madger was brutally slashed and stabbed in her own home in the daytime, in front of her 8 month old child. The baby was unharmed, but Nadine was dead by the time her husband Mark found her. No one was seen around Nadine's apartment, and neighbors had not heard a thing. Police followed up on the few clues at the scene, and tried to track down a distinctive vehicle seen by a witness, to no avail. Nadine's case went cold as suspect after suspect was ruled out. Renewed testing led to the discovery of male DNA on the form of blood on Nadine's blouse, but there were no hits in CODIS to help identify him. Finally, forensic genealogy led to the family the killer was likely descended from – and only one of them lived in the area, and drove that distinctive car. He was dead, but Nadine's husband and son finally have answers.
