NAIDOC Week 2026 – Show #399 (part 2), 12 July 2026

from Miss Chatelaine

Australia’s annual NAIDOC Week – known by many First Nations people as ‘Mob Christmas’ – celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Katie marks it every year with an hour of music by First Nations artists. The theme for 2026 is ’50 Years Deadly’, marking five decades of NAIDOC Week. The official website says the theme is “a tribute to the elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year [and is also] about the future and the next 50 years and the fight for justice continuing with new tools, new voices, and the same fire”. Here is the playlist: Polly’s Moon – KYARNA Cry Freedom – Richard J Frankland & The Charcoal Club Do I Need You – Emma Donovan Tears in My Eyes – Boorook Made to Roam – JC and the Tree We’ve Got the Power – Sunny Luwe Here’s Where I Stand – Casey Donovan The More Things Change – Kutcha Edwards Don’t You Worry (Live) – Electric Fields with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Daisies – Cooee Above: Official 2026 NAIDOC Week poster, Paralpi by Zaachariaha Fielding The post NAIDOC Week 2026 – Show #399 (part 2), 12 July 2026 appeared first on Miss Chatelaine.
