Naloxone (Narcan) and Why It's Needed At Live Music Events

from Educate Your Earbuds · host Educate Your Earbuds

This week the Educate Your Earbuds team wants to touch on a serious topic, and one that is very relevant in today’s live music scene. The accidental deaths of concertgoers from drug overdoses, and how you as a bystander may be able to step in and save a life in the case of an emergency. The lifesaving drug Naloxone has recently been approved for over the counter use in the United States. It has very low risk of side effects and it’s so easy to administer that even an untrained person could use it to save someone’s life. No matter your stance on drug use we think this is a tool that every live music attendee should be aware is out there, because it truly could be the difference between life and death.
