Merry Christmas to everyone from "Deeper in the Word"! Welcome to our special Christmas episode! We know that people typically cover the same topics this time of year – yunno, the baby in the manger, the three wise men and the shepherds, the star they followed, etc. – but C’MON NOW! Y’all already know that we do things differently on this show, so our special holiday episode will examine a DIFFERENT angle of the Christmas story…and that has to do with the NAME of Jesus. Listen….pretty much everyone born into this world is given a name. But back in biblical times – and unlike today - people’s names stood for MUCH more than they do today. Back then, your name stood for your reputation, or your fame and glory. In fact, if you study bible names you’ll see that they often reveal a lot about the personality of the people being mentioned.
