《孟子·尽心上》里说：“夫君子，所过者化，所存者神，上下与天地同流，岂曰小补之哉。”这一段话，要特别注意，尤其是青年朋友们，是挑起民族承先启后责任的人，凡是中华民族的子孙，都要挑起这个责任。一个知识分子，担负有国家民族文化的责任，对于道德的修养，人文修养，要做到“所过者化”，才合于继祖承宗的标准，也就是要做到内圣外王。真正的圣人，大家就自然受他的影响，受他的感召和教化；口头的教化是言教，更重要的是身教。身教是以自己的行为影响别人，超过了言教，但还是不够，要能够做到“所过者化”。
