People who are constantly performing confidence they do not actually feel.Those are the people most likely to believe that the election was stolen. That the deep state is real. That the media is lying to them. That secret forces are controlling everything behind the scenes.She called the mechanism behind it avoidance coping. When a narcissist is faced with something stressful, something that threatens the image, they do not deal with it. They avoid it. It takes the blame off the believer and puts it on an invisible force that can never be caught, never be confronted, and never be disproven.It makes you the hero. This is the part people miss. A conspiracy theory does not just remove blame. It flips the story. Now you are not the person who got fooled. You are the one who sees what everyone else is too blind to see. You are the brave one. The one who figured it out. The one who is not a sheep.For a narcissist that is everything. It is victimhood and superiority at the same time. You are being persecuted by powerful forces AND you are smarter than everyone around you for seeing it. That is the narcissist’s dream. And they will burn every relationship they have before they let it fall.That is avoidance coping on a national scale. Millions of people using conspiracy theories to protect an image that reality already destroyed.An entire movement of people who would rather believe the election was stolen, the courts are corrupt, the media is fake, and the entire world is lying to them, than admit they picked the wrong guy.What Happens NextHere is the prediction. And it is not hard to make because narcissists are predictable.When this era is over, when the conspiracies have collapsed under the weight of reality, not a single one of these people will say they were wrong. They will pretend it never happened. They will quietly take the bumper stickers off the truck and act like they were never that deep into it.And if you bring it up, they will get angry at you for bringing it up. They will say you are living in the past. They will say you are the one who is obsessed. They will make you the problem for remembering what they did.Because that is what narcissists do.
