National Fudge Day

from Act ASAP · host Daniel Kilburn

"Indulge in Pure Bliss: The Allure and Temptation of Chocolate Fudge"  Hey there, fellow fudge lovers! As a confectionery chef extraordinaire, I can tell you firsthand that fudge is one of the most amazing indulgencesout there. This creamy, decadent treat brings joy to people of all ages with its rich texture and mouthwatering combination of flavors. So, what makes fudge so special? Let's break it down.  First of all, fudge is a truly sensory experience. The way it melts in your mouth and the flavors burst with every bite is pure magic. You'll fall in love with fudge's creamy texture, made with butter, sugar, and milk. From classic chocolate to creative blends of ingredients like vanilla and caramel, there's a fudge flavor for everyone.  But wait, there's more! Did you know that fudge comes with health benefits, too? While it's definitely not a health food, dark chocolate (which is often used in fudge recipes) contains antioxidants that can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems. In fact, dark chocolate has been linked to benefits like lowering cholesterol levels and preventing cognitive decline, so it's really a win-win [1].  Now, let's talk nutrition. Fudge is high in carbs and calories, but it does have a relatively low glycemic index, which means it won't cause a blood sugar spike. Plus, it contains minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, and copper [2]. However, don't go thinking it's a health food - fudge should definitely be enjoyed in moderation as a treat, not a meal replacement.  When it comes to enjoying fudge, the key is portion control. It's calorie-dense, so be mindful of how much you eat. But don't feel guilty about treating yourself to a small piece every so often - life is short, and fudge is delicious!  In conclusion, fudge is an amazing indulgence with a sensory experience that's hard to beat. You can feel good about enjoying it in moderation, knowing it contains some potential health benefits and a few essential minerals. So go ahead, take a bite of that luscious fudge and enjoy the moment of pure bliss it brings!  Here is a simple Fudge Recipe. https://www.livewellbakeoften.com/easy-fudge-recipe/  References:  "Chocolate: Health benefits, facts, and research." NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next. Mark Shaffer Philosopher Kings empowers next-gen professionals to think, speak, and act with knowledge, wisdom, and virtue.  Lum and Abner Old Time guoshibing The series was created by co-stars Chester Lauck (who played Columbus "Lum" Edwards) and Norris Goff (Abner Peabody). Lum always pronounced his own name as Ed'erds and was very annoyed if Abner or anyone brought up his full first name. The two characters performed as a double act, with Lum generally playing the straight man to Abner's attempts to break free from Lum's influence. As co-owners of the Jot 'em Down Store in the fictional town of Pine Ridge, Arkansas, the pair are constantly stumbling upon moneymaking ideas only to find themselves fleeced by nemesis Squire Skimp, before finally finding a way to redeem themselves. Lum and Abner played the hillbilly theme with deceptive cleverness. In addition to the title characters, Lauck also played Grandpappy Spears and Cedric Weehunt while Goff played Abner, Squire Skimp, Llewelyn "Mousey" Grey, Dick Huddleston, and most of the other characters.Lum and Abner, like most sitcoms of the era, had a live house band, in
