National Police Week

from WBEX-AM Podcast

Captain Ron Meyers of the Chillicothe Police Department remembers the five CPD officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The first was Officer George Wall in 1891. Wall and the others are memorialized on a monument at the Law Enforcement Complex. Others include Officers Daniel Garrett (1926), Edwin Waldon (1928), Phillip Steinbrook (1979) and Larry Cox (2005). Ross County Sheriff's Deputy Lawrence Barnes (2006) is also on the monument. Learn more about the men and women who have fallen in the line of duty at www.odmp.org. The Department also thanks the community for feeding officers this week. Restaurants and volunteers are feeding all shifts this week and there will be a cookout outside the LEC this weekend.
