National Repentance Required

David's eventual response to a 3-year national famine was to seek God in prayer. He learned that he must reconcile with the Gibeonites, who Saul wrongly slaughtered. Justice was done by executing 7 of Saul's descendants. God takes covenant promises seriously, holding us to account for our sins. However, we learn that genuine atonement and humble obedience will lead to God's blessing being restored on a nation under judgment.
