National Strategy to Support Family Caregiver with Carol Zernial

Ron Aaron and Carol Zernial showcase and highlight major recommendations of the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council’s National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers and the recommendations may impact the nation’s 53 million or more family caregivers nationwide. Carol Zernial, MA is a nationally recognized gerontologist named one of the nation’s Top 50 Influencers in Aging 2017 by Next Avenue. She holds a master's degree in social gerontology, and has been in the field of aging over 30 years. Carol serves as Executive Director of the WellMed Charitable Foundation and Senior VP Social Responsibility for WellMed Medical Management. She is immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the National Council on Aging, and was appointed to the national RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council, where she serves as co-chair. Among her many awards, she was named the Outstanding Professional in Aging in Texas 2008.
