Nationals Trade Ace Griffin for Future | Cleveland Guardians News

The Nationals pulled off a blockbuster trade before the deadline, sending ace pitcher Foster Griffin—rocking a 12-3 record and a 3.06 ERA—to the Guardians in exchange for four promising prospects: pitchers Josh Hartle (Top 25 prospect), Will Dion (just made his MLB debut), reliever Kendeglys Virguez, and outfielder Nick Mitchell. Griffin’s electrifying return from Japan has made him a top-tier starter, while the Nats gambled on rebuilding with young talent. The Guardians, meanwhile, are boosting their rotation for a playoff push. All eyes now turn to whether Griffin can maintain his dominance in Cleveland and if the new pieces can deliver on their potential.
