Nationwide test of AusAlert emergency system

Australia's new national emergency alert system, AusAlert, was tested nationwide at 2pm with millions of mobile phones receiving a loud siren warning simultaneously. The test achieved 94% coverage across the country, though some devices failed to receive the alert due to tower maintenance and upgrades.
