Nattering E Trades #11: The Worst Picks Trade In NFL What Could Have Been

from Visionaries Global Media · host Visionaries Global Media

Welcome back to another episode of Nattering E Trades, your home on Visionaries Global Media for all things trades in sports. After spending the first 10 episodes navigating our way through both how trades work, and the NFL, today will be the final chapter on the NFL. I had a suggestion from a friend about doing a series on the 15 players that went ahead of our Number One best draft day trade Jerry Rice in the 1985 NFL Draft, but that will come at a later date. After today we'll be switching it up to Nattering E At The Movies for next week, and then do a quick show on that 1985 draft, before going into the NBA for more trade magic. Heck we might even discuss the Orlando Magic and some of the trades that have depicted their franchise for better or worse. Today, however, we enter episode 11 seeking to answer one question, E what is the worst NFL draft pick trade on draft day? Now as you know, this list is entirely subjective, as any one of the three worst trades could have been number one on a sports company's site. They also might not even be on any site's radar. Today our number one pick in the Worst Draft Trades in the history of the NFL is number three on NFL.com's list of the worst draft day trades. If you recall in episode 10, we discussed how former Chicago Bears legend and Head Coach Mike Ditka essentially tarnished his own reputation with the Ricky Williams deal that saw the New Orleans Saints trade all nine of their draft picks to the Washington Commanders formerly Redskins for the fifth overall selection to take Williams. Now, you're probably thinking, wait, Eric, there's a deal worse than this. And it involves the Washington franchise? Well, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and diehard sports fans I'm afraid it does. So let us get into it. #1. The worst Draft Day Trade involves draft picks. Washington trades up to get Robert Griffin III in a deal with the St. Louis Rams and the LA Rams.
