In this month's episode the American Blue Economy Podcast, our host  Rear Admiral, Tim Gallaudet, PhD, US Navy (ret) explores nature-based solutions in the American Blue Economy.  We'll cover creative solutions in coastal resilience and hazard mitigation such as wetland restoration, coral reef conservation, eco-friendly construction components. Although our focus is coastal resilience, the term nature-based solutions refers to sustainable management and use of natural features and processes to tackle socio-environmental challenges. such as climate change, water security, water pollution, food security, human health, biodiversity loss, and disaster risk management Joining us will be Jennifer Steger, Pacific Regional Manager at NOAA’s Restoration Center, Dr. Ido Sella, CEO of ECOncrete, and Dr. Bernhard Riegl, Professor and Chair of Marine and Environmental Sciences. Co-director of the Florida Climate Institute, and director of the National Coral Reef Institute at Nova Southeastern University. Bringing in diverse perspectives from the government, private sector, and academia, we're guaranteed to give a superior session on the significance of sustainability in the American Blue Economy.
