As a physician whose practice has been heavily focused on chronic illness and pain, Dr. Belt sees that these patients are regular victims of medical gaslighting. She works with her patients to recognize gaslighting when it happens, as well as helping them to advocate for themselves. Dr. Belt also thinks that educating practitioners is a great step toward decreasing medical gaslighting incidents.
