Navigating Holiday Chaos: 'Setting Boundaries to Avoid Sin' and Taking a Biblical Approach to Difficult Relatives

from Love Always Podcast · host The Edifi Podcast Network

The holidays can be a time of joy but also of pain and chaos. Richard and Brittni break down how difficult relationships and negative patterns can make navigating this time of year difficult. The two discuss "setting boundaries to avoid sin," avoiding temptation, and how to deal with relatives and others who have caused problems or offenses. "Oftentimes, when we go back to our families ... and you are still at odds with that particular person, it's very easy for you to walk in this holiday season, wanting to hold a grudge, holding on to offense," Richard said. "When we walk into that room, it shouldn't be about us. The Bible teaches us, 'Blessed are those who are peacemakers.'"The two discussed how Christians are "called to reconcile" and not to gold grudges, and Brittni differentiated between putting up boundaries versus creating walls. Beyond all that, though, she affirmed the need to be rooted in Christ."Too often, the reason people are so led by their emotions is because they're not spending time with the Spirit," she said. "A wise person overlooks an offense ... You have to be Spirit-fed so you won't be emotionally led."Listen to this powerful episode of "Let's Talk Purity."Follow Richard and Brittni on Social Media:- Love Always Ministries on Instagram- Brittni De La Mora on Instagram- Richard De La Mora on Instagram
