Unexpected Job Loss regardless of economic state feels terrible. It’s a significant change in life that can cause you to feel a wide range of feelings included but not limited to stress, anxiety, fear, shame, and uncertainty.

It’s also highly likely that you’ve (and I) have never been taught how to manage such a situation. So what do you do when you're faced with this massive, life changing event?

In this episode, I chat with my beautiful friend Melissa McGugan who is a design and marketing guru and all things creativity. What does that have to do with job loss and insecurity you ask? Well, Melissa has real life experience in this department (more than once) and some really good action steps to be taking during this time (and I promise it’s not just the same run-of-the-mill productivity tips you’re seeing on instagram..although those can be helpful).

We cover:

  • 8 steps you can take to process a job loss
  • Different assistance programs
  • Getting crystal clear on finances
  • Networking
  • Discovering new streams of income
  • Finding fulfillment in a new reality
  • And more

Melissa goes in depth (like super deep) with each step she provides and the information is invaluable whether you’re currently in a state of unemployment, fearful of your job stability, or even job safe.

RESOURCES MENTIONED:

Journal Prompts
Financial Planning Association or the Foundation for Financial Planning for information on pro bono services
Unemployment Insurance
Relief Programs for different industries
Fiver/TaskRabbit
