Welcome to series 3 and a very happy New-Year to you all! We are starting 2022 off with a fabulous guest, Elizabeth Joseph, a woman navigating menopause and trying out (so that we don’t have to) all the good, bad and the downright ridiculous inventions that will help (or not) you through menopause.We find what you think about New Years resolutions, motivational or are we setting ourselves up to fail?We begin January 2022 with a new book for the Book Collective, The Female Lead, volume 2, We Rise by Lifting Others by Edwina Dunn.On the foodie front there is a combined Foodie Collective and WI with Lou starting Veganuary. If you need to be cheered up in this, often difficult, month, then this episode won’t let you down.Elizabeth Joseph is a woman who has gone from invisible housewife plagued by peri menopause to a social media guinea pig! She has tried out a range of products and approaches, from womb massage to fart pants all in the name of research. She is both funny and honest.Elizabeth says that her hope is by speaking up about this shit storm in our lives with honesty and humour so no other woman need ever stumble into peri menopause clueless, lost or alone. Elizabeth talks us through her journey and we discuss the the stigma that surrounds peri menopause and why we should all tell each other what is happening to our lives and bodies. Do you set yourself New-year resolutions? There’s a divided opinion with the Collective but the over-riding thought is that you should not put pressure on yourself to achieve resolutions. The Book Collective begin the wonderful, The Female Lead, Volume 2 by Edwina Dunn, we read up to page 78. It really is the most beautiful and uplifting of books full of inspiring women, we look at Julia Gillard the 27th Prime Minister of Australia and discuss her ‘misogyny speech.’ We will read up to page 128 Nadia Murad for episode 2. The Foodie this month is all about Veganuary, Lou has been challenged by Jinty to become vegan for the month of January. There’s a nightmare shopping trip and Lou finds out what you can actually do with tofu!
