Classification of endometrial tumors based strictly on morphology can be challenging due to overlapping histologic features and often requires the assistance of ancillary testing. Recently proposed algorithms, such as the ProMisE Proactive Molecular Risk Classifier for Endometrial Cancer, coupled with TCGA data, aim to further subclassify endometrial carcinomas into prognostically significant groups based on molecular genetics, explains Dr. Laura Tafe in this CAPcast interview.
