Send us Fan MailGrowing up is hard. Growing up in the world of Scientology? That's an entirely different challenge. Join me, your host Claire Headley, as we traverse this uncharted territory with our guest, Miriam Francis. An individual who, like me, was inducted into Scientology's Sea Org as a child, Miriam offers us an intimate glimpse into her journey - the emotional struggles, broken relationships, and a sense of self fighting for survival in an environment that gave precedence to the organization over family. As children, we were subjected to rigorous training and discipline within the organization. We were made to feel responsible for the workings of a complex entity that, in a bizarre twist, had us instructing adults. This experience, though challenging, was not unique to us. The episode focuses not just on our narratives but on giving voice to other children of Scientology. We aim to bring their often overlooked experiences into the spotlight, offering listeners a rare insight into the reality of Scientology. Our conversation delves into the trials of growing up in such an environment, right from the trauma our mothers faced within Scientology, to our early childhood days filled with confusion and chaos. We discuss the distressing reality of child labor, restrictive environment, and the pressure to conform, all while struggling with mental health within the Sea Org. We also highlight the importance of child protection in controversial organizations like Scientology. So, join us as we navigate these turbulent waters together and shed light on narratives seldom heard. Stay tuned for part two of our conversation as we continue revealing these stories.Support the showBFG Store - http://blownforgood-shop.fourthwall.com/Blown For Good on Audible - https://www.amazon.com/Blown-for-Good-Marc-Headley-audiobook/dp/B07GC6ZKGQ/ref=tmm_aud_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=Blown For Good Website: http://blownforgood.com/PODCAST INFO:Podcast website: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2131160Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/blown-for-good-behind-the-iron-curtain-of-scientology/id1671284503RSS: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/2131160.rssYOUTUBE PLAYLISTS:Spy Files Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWtJfniWLwq4cA-eBNXD...
