Navigating Transcendence with Cymande Baxter-Rogers

from The Feminine Rebellion · host Natty Frasca

Hello, Feminine Rebellion! These days it is all too easy to get sucked into the negativity that seems to wait for us around every corner. How do we transcend the bullshit and live meaningful, purposeful lives? How can we navigate transitions and life changes with grace when the world continues to bombard us with trauma, suffering, and pain? Well to start, this conversation I had with Cymande Baxter-Rogers was like a soothing balm full of wisdom and promise. I needed it. Honestly, it expanded my mind and my heart. Cymande is a psychiatric and family nurse practitioner living in the woods of NH while plotting her global impact as a psychedelic therapist. She has been in practice in western medical spaces for over 20 years, has spent the last few years studying psychedelic medicine and is graduating from the California Institute of Integral Studies psychedelic therapy and research program this year. She is Afro indigenous and Celtic, born on the west coast, lives on the east coast and has lived in the south, all experiences that have shaped her perspectives on the deep roots of our current internal and community struggles. She will be among the first group of medical providers to be board certified in psychedelic medicine and therapy. Cymande currently works with an innovative home ketamine provider and has just completed her service in community mental health. She is beyond ready to help reshape our understanding of what it means to care for each other. I hope you enjoy this beautiful conversation that left my heart feeling full of promise. I feel better about the world after talking to Cymande. I am sure you will be equally inspired and soothed. Topics we discuss: Cymande’s experience as nurse and her journey to her current work Transitions and transcending The value and importance of community Perspective on the individual and the collective Getting to the root of the suffering Guided psychedelics as an intentional healing pathways Appropriation of sacred indigenous traditions Resources 👇🏼 The Fireside Project - Psychedelic Peer Support Line that provides emotional support during and after psychedelic experiences https://firesideproject.org/ Nikean Foundation - beautiful narratives around what psychedelic journeys are like https://nikean.org/ Important Links 👇🏼 Natalie’s Website https://www.thefemininerebellion.com/ The Feminine Rebellion on IG: @thefemininerebellion https://www.instagram.com/thefemininerebellion/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thefemininerebellion/message
