Naz Saad | Words & Actions part of The Edinburgh Fringe 26 Series | Episode 562

“Art can restore the humanity that history tries to flatten.”In Episode 562 of *The Martin Talk Show*, Martin Colton meets artist and writer Naz Saad at Words & Actions for Peace in Edinburgh.Naz discusses her exhibition, *(Op)pressed Flowers*, which reimagines historical portraits by introducing flowers, colour and new life into images shaped by the colonial gaze. The conversation explores the inspiration behind the work, the stories held within the portraits and the power of art to challenge established narratives.Martin and Naz also discuss creativity, identity, sustainability and how art can become a form of peaceful action—encouraging people to look again, ask questions and see the humanity behind an image. Please note: This conversation forms part of *The Martin Talk Show’s* Edinburgh 2026 series because it was recorded during Martin’s time in the city. Naz’s exhibition is independently hosted by Words & Actions for Peace and is not an official Edinburgh Festival Fringe event.🎨 EXHIBITION VENUEWords & Actions for Peace58 Ratcliffe TerraceEdinburgh, EH9 1STLearn more about Words & Actions for Peace:https://www.wordsandactions.scotFollow Words & Actions on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/wordsandactions.edinburghLearn more about Secure Scotland:https://www.securescotland.scot🎙️ Discover *The Martin Talk Show*:https://www.themartintalkshow.com▶️ Subscribe on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@MartinTalkShow🎧 Listen on Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/show/5wfvOukaochthhVFf9EMns🎧 Listen on Apple Podcasts:https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id1700080572📸 Follow on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/the_martin_talk_showAs always, connect with Martin via:https://www.themartintalkshow.com#NazSaad #ArtForPeace #AmplifyingChangemakers
