The Moon and conspiracy theories go together like Buzz Armstrong and punching moon conspiracy theorists in the face. From the moment the Apollo 11 mission touched down on the lunar surface 50 years ago and Neil Armstrong delivered his “One small step for man” line there have been mutterings that the entire thing was staged in a TV studio. One certain Moon conspiracy, however, can claim bragging rights over all others. That’s the one in which during the final months of WWII, the Nazis somehow made it to the Moon before anyone else, without the knowledge of anyone else or without being detected by anyone else. There, on the dark side of the Moon they constructed a vast Bond-villain style lair. Nazis on the Moon is, as far as conspiracy theories go, one of the wildest and most unbelievable.
