It's 17 years. What up everybody. Just getting on here. Just a matter of formality right now.
Lost enough about 20, wait a minute. 20 left. So everybody just that bad and JV trying to get this shit off. But he goes it out.
I'm ready to see Spike tomorrow. Spike, FIFA, Shelton. Yeah. Yeah.
Y'all need to demand a lot of answers from them without disrespectful. They were to the boss itself. I tried to ask them, you know, I repeatedly asked them and put out different scenario, different situations, et cetera, et cetera. And they just didn't let it go.
Best duo ever. Anyway, RKF Master, I think that I think Tatum is going to steal the finals MVP for real. I think that he's been very consistent throughout the Let me switch. He's been very consistent.
Even though he shot like shit, he's been very consistent during the whole finals run. And I think in game three, he was a, I did pick him as a first, but I changed my mind. All right. So, and I was trying to, if you haven't picked up on it yet, I try to do the reverse jeans, but it didn't work.
It didn't work against a, it hasn't been working like that. It hasn't been working like so. Yeah, I had to go ahead and just do what needs to be done. Yeah, it didn't work.
So anyway, but yeah, this is it. So let me turn that down. We don't need that. But yeah, I think Tatum is definitely had in game three.
I think he was really instrumental in them winning that game with his 11 to 13 points in the first quarter or something like that. And then I think it was in game four, he was huge. Well, you know, he only finished with 15 points, but he was only one in double figures at halftime. So, so yeah, so there are a lot of things that over the years have been discussed on this program about Tatum about Brown, all of his outdoor don't mean shit now.
They've done what they've been, but we've questioned whether or not they can do it. Can Tatum be that guy is Brown the better player? Do they need to split him up? The answer has been given now.
So they did not split them up and they've been rewarded for it. And now they got a title. I think, of course, obviously getting true holiday was big and we got to talk about that move. So we'll do an analysis on that tomorrow on the Bucks, how they performed this year compared to what Boston did.
And really honestly, how the whole situation came about is really interesting. How drew holiday ended up in Boston. So I think that's interesting, but this was the last piece of what Tatum needed, of what Brown needed because they are duo. They're they're tandem.
But Tatum has gotten the most criticism, the harshest criticism out of the boat. And nobody can say anything anymore. So he got it. He got it.
He got his own. He got a rain, Horford finally got a rain. Can you imagine that? Drew Holiday has a second.
Joe Missoula. I saw old Freezing Takes or cold takes or whatever on Twitter. Everybody was calling for him to be fired. Nobody believed in him because he wasn't very good last year in managing his timeouts.
So AP went from playing with Luca to Boston. Another good move by Brad Stevens. And here he is. So in dominant fashion, man, they lay their egg in game, game four, but they took care of business tonight.
So Sonny is definitely a FIFA. We won't see FIFA till tomorrow. We won't see FIFA till tomorrow. Probably won't see Spike either.
But that's fine. That's fine. I think Kyle will be on. I just sent Nick the link.
So he'll be showing up. Yeah, Kyle said he's about to help on to. So anyway, yes, I'm really curious to see who wins finals in VP here. I can't believe Horford got a rain, bro.
That's crazy. Nick, I think Nick, Nick, I've been on tonight. He actually picked the self-ditz and seven, I think. So he'll be on in a second.
I will say, let me go through some notes I had about this game. So early on, they've both teams were a little tight. Definitely, I think you saw the mouse maker run when KP first entered the game. They attacked him.
They had, they were like four, four from three against KP. He just can move. I mean, he looked awful. He's not the most athletic guy anyway.
Oh, 31, 8, and 11. He said we did it. I thought, man, see, Tatum messed up, bro. All he had to do, all he had to do was say anything is possible.
It's all he had to do. We did it? It on Nick. So, yes, so they struggled in KP game in the game.
Tatum and Brown were awful early. They had poor shooting, but the notes I have, they finished the first quarter strong. They finished the second quarter strong, and then they built the lead in the third quarter. And well, no, they had a 21 point lead heading in the halftime.
So, Boston hit, Tatum with runs. You don't even see the runs coming. And Dallas was right in the game. And that's the, you know, a couple of turnovers and they're about to.
That's it. Huh? Go ahead. Okay.
Yeah, I thought it was also a good move by Missoula to post up Kyrie in the second quarter as well to try to generate some, some easy shots. But, but yeah, yeah, that's yeah, that press though, that small ball lineup was awful. It was awful, bro. Yeah, that was a bad move by Mizzou and holiday just made Missoula up.
I don't know how they would miss these layers, but that, but to your point, that run, I think it was in the first half of where everyone was like, they went up close to 2015 points, 15 points. To me, that was a game. And yeah, early on, you could see that Dallas, he would tell that Dallas does not play well on the road in this series early on in the game. And I knew that was the case.
Yeah, I think I saw that wrote it down. Boston, Nicholas, Kyle was good. What's happening? What's happening?
Anyone. What? 80 and 21. 80 and 21, not a season over.
Yeah, Boston is on the record books. It looked like one of the greatest teams of all time. It's like, you know, like, you should be like, that's what it's going to be looked like that. You know, we're going to tell the tale, like, keep it from me.
Yeah, but they really aren't one of the greatest teams of all time. No, yeah, we all know that. I mean, I mean, I mean, I hate, let's just be honest, it, this has been like the least, probably the least competitive finals I've ever seen in my life. Like none of these games were close.
And that's it's kind of an indictment on the bat. And again, I don't want to, I don't want to sound like I'm pissing on the Celtics parade, but this is not a great team. It's a good team, a very good team. But no, if you they were with 16 and 20 playoffs, something like that.
It's not a good game. Yeah, it was like, they're like, yeah, something like the 18 and three, maybe or something like 19 and three. Yeah, they lost three total games in the playoffs. And they had a chance to record wise be one of the best teams to go on a finals run.
But they lost game for right here. That's what I love to game for. So, but no, I mean, I think that, yeah, I mean, you can't deny like the record, right? 80 and 21 is pretty damn great.
It just doesn't, what with Boston, they're so, they have the system and a style of play. That's a little bit counter to what we're used to seeing. We used to seeing stuff, you know, golf and just be dominant and clay. And you know, the way they shoot the three and stuff like that, we used to LeBron's physicality and the way he manipulates the game and stuff like that.
MJ, without dominant, he was like, take him around. They don't have that. They don't really kind of play that way. So it doesn't look as sexy and pretty as we're kind of used to.
And so the aesthetic of what they do and how they win just is different than anything we've really seen. So statistically, yeah, they are dominant. It just doesn't, we just haven't seen it play in this way. I mean, for me, it's just more about, I mean, if we're just talking about them, because they want to tackle now, so we got to talk about the legs.
It's weird to talk about Jason Tatum and Jay LaBrautto this way. That's why we all got to go off the top. But to me, it's just more about this, the way we will remember this run, I think it'll be kind of like, this is a lot of people compared to this team. Maybe they're like the Richmond's version of that, but like the 04 business is kind of like, get your own title and we know you want a title, but we don't really brag and remember about that title.
I think we more brag about how we didn't expect you to win. And then with this case, it's kind of like everybody automatically expect them to win. And in a way that's unique as far as like, we didn't expect them to win, like how we did with Denver, where we was like, oh, we don't think it was going to beat y'all. It was more about like, we got to justify all the shit y'all been doing in the last 15 years with this team.
Like if y'all don't win it now, we don't ever want to hear y'all again, y'all may need to break up the whole team. But since they won it, I feel like it's just kind of like, okay, we expected y'all to like, the East was shitty. The West was actually way more competitive. I think the finals that everybody really wanted to see was between Minnesota and Denver.
So that was pretty much the finals in my opinion. Pretty much, yeah. That was the seven game series. Yeah, the West kind of ate each other.
Like they took each other out. So like Dallas coming out of that was just random. But as you can see, Dallas was they just was on a hot streak and it just didn't last them all. Well, yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead. Go ahead.
No, what I was going to say was like, I think even as we start talking legacy, I don't really know if we'll be able to kind of compartmentalize this legacy. This has a legacy because we saw the Tatum Brown core, make a few runs or whatever like that. How many rings they get out of it might just be one because I think the way the league is set up now, I don't think we're going to see multiple champions. We're going to see a new champion every year.
It's just not set up there. I'll be honest, I'm somebody who picked Denver to win it all and go back to back and you saw what happened to them. I mean, they just ran into a buzz. So I'm in Minnesota and Malone couldn't get out of his own ways for his coaches, because sorry, and they had arguably the best playing the game and joker.
And you think, okay, Minnesota's going to be back. You think Denver's going to be back. You think Boston's going to be back, but every year somebody different. I don't even think, I mean, there's some teams that we can kind of, we can check off the list.
We can check the Lakers off the list unless something crazy happens. We can check stuff and those guys off the list because there ain't nothing going to happen here. And so I think there's a reason why there's been just every year, every year has been a new champion for the last one, six, I think this is the six year we're going to get a new champion. I think this is the trend that's going to continue and I think next year it's going to be somebody else.
Yeah, no, it may be, but yeah, because I got to see what the roster looks like, but and you would think that going 80 and 21, having finally won learning from your losses two years ago, then now they know what it takes. So now we can, we could just run it back as long as we stay healthy, we should be able to go back to back. And for all in terms of person, if they bring this roster back, who's to say they couldn't repeat. They got a good chance.
But I mean, like even in the East, you Nick, Nick's New York team, I mean, they're going to be legit, you know, and if they can make a play here, they're, you know, they're going to make a move for Donner and Mitchell. It all really depends on how free agency ships up. And then I think, you know, the injury and then there's complacency. Boston was a team that pretty much has been the best team all year long, but they've led from the front.
They never had, you know, other with the exception of KP's, you know, injury, they didn't have a lot of adversity this year. It was just, can we see if Boston is real? Because I saw this self-16 blow to 25 points, at least at all. So I mean, it's like, you can't beat the Hawks, but you can win the championship.
So it's like, I don't know, man, I just don't know that I don't know that we're going to see repeat champions. I think those days are long gone. I won't say they're long gone. I just think that I think the league moves differently than that now.
I think the last one we got was we'll go to the state. And even then that was more of a, that's kind of what was a Hail Mary miracle shot with Kevin Durant. Because again, as much people as you know, they shit on Kevin Durant for those rings, they don't really shit on stuff for getting those rings, because he benefited in the most of that. But if it wasn't for Katie going there, do they get more than one?
You could argue that they may get two because I mean, they did win a few years ago against, I guess, this Boston team, but I was when no one really was picking them. They were still contenders when we were really picking them that year. But you know, unless you, to me, unless you get like a top five player, like the way the Celtics were originally supposed to be constructed, Kyrie was supposed to be on that team. So they should have been, they should have gotten about two to three.
I first be honest, if that team stuck together and Kyrie was playing like I used in Dallas, but that didn't happen. So that's why we only get him. I want to say how he planted a Dallas in the morphs. I'm saying like if he was playing before he got to the finals is what I'm saying.
But you know, that's the best back whatever. That's what they told us. It worked out with a Golden State when they said that shit about clean and stuff. It definitely worked out with that.
But this one is just like, God, this is just a good year. Let's just not listen. You got to be careful when you kind of sing those praises like that because that stuff seems always coming. You can't give them the props before it's time.
And that stuff always kind of comes back to bite you. And I mean, like, you don't think Luca, I mean, you don't think Taylor Brown heard that stuff and had a little bit more motivation to play them. And that's not to say that Luca and Kyrie weren't great because they were great. But we heard about how they closed games out, how they do this and how to do that.
But it wasn't here. Kyrie didn't show up in Boston at all. I don't think did he get 20 points tonight? I don't think that's it.
Yeah, he was terrible. But Darc's getting win again. Nick. Who?
Jamie got the MVP. Yeah, I thought I thought it'd be fun. I thought it'd be fun. He actually had a good line tonight though statistically.
So yeah, it actually take them back 31, 8 and 11. I thought he was going to get it. But I thought that was after the game. But Jaylen had like 1980 and so he was right there on par.
So all you have to do is just kind of just maintain his level. So that's dope, bro. That's the way he got it. And you got to also give credit to guys like Derek White, who, you know, those guys, what they do don't really show up in the statue.
But I mean, really to be the bodies that they could throw at Luca, the bodies they could throw at Kyrie. He and and Drew Holiday, I think were key the series. Those guys were different different makers. And you know, they weren't a whole bunch of lives and stuff like that.
So they it's in spite of Boston size. You know, they kind of held their own in the paint too as well. So this series wasn't really, I'll put it like this. There was a point in this game where I was like, Boston really has made Dallas like they don't belong here at all.
And you wouldn't think you'd be saying that about a team in the finals. But that's how it looked. I mean, save for game four. Dallas looked like they didn't even belong here.
And game four was flooky. So, you know, so yeah, I mean, once Lively hit that three got into his rap, we're in Taitlin, Jason Taitlin has some hell of our numbers to 27, 27, 27, and 7. Yeah, he had a bit of numbers. I mean, it could have really split them to be honest.
Yeah, okay. Well, anyway, I think Brown, they gave it to the right person. Brown was there first two games and then Taitlin came on strong and three, four, or five, he kind of settled down. But but yeah, man, I think we can make an argument that if Denver would have gotten there, maybe they would have lost and maybe would have been more competitive.
I think also maybe just Boston was just that much better than anybody they ever faced. Like they may have done the same thing to Minnesota. Denver probably was the only one that could have really gave them any calm. If we ever think about it, they it's just again, I just think the way it's like you brought up the different nuggets.
I mean, the Detroit Pistons, they'd be a they'd be that Lakers team we didn't see coming, but defensively, that's what they were known for, like for clamping down on teams and and that became their signature. And I think they went to the Easter Conference Finals a couple of times, so they only needed to validate it with the title. So again, aesthetically, don't look like and they did it with the mid-range game. And Boston just did it with these driving kick threes from most of the game.
So, you know, I think there's a gentleman in Jana Brown and game just that time looked ugly. I think what for me is I think for me is like, Jaylin Brown is now getting all the flowers that he has, I guess, earned at this one clearly, just won the title. But um, con to your point, like, is this this may be this may be it for them, like this may be like, and it all paid off with uh, with Brad Stevens, um, with his transition from head coach to GM, the team that he built, uh, the pick the players he drafted, the players he developed, like Brad Stevens has been a part of this big this big project too. I know he had your favorite first of the really top.
Because he essentially got fired and promoted at the same time, which is one of the weirdest times. He's a fine. He's a fine. He's a fine.
He's a fine. He's a fine. I'm done with these niggas. That's literally what he said when he on his way out.
But um, this may be just the pinnacle of that. And so you're going back to your point, Kyle, earlier, you were talking about the parody of the NBA now, like a lot of teams was hurt this year on the east side too. Like, like people look at that next team like that was, that's that team shouldn't even been in the playoffs. So like, honestly, it was, it was all built off a New York grid legit and filling over pride.
That's all that we got him there. And then, um, Philly was hurt. Like, well, it'd be was, you know, he's always hurt, but Philly was hurt. Always hurt.
But, but, but, it was hurt. Giannis was hurt. Um, how it burned in the middle of the day was hurt. Like it was just like, there was a lot of injuries.
So like next year, you don't know what's going to happen. And then obviously we got the draft. So maybe things can change for some teams in the east and players and free agency can go to the east. And then in the west, I think Denver is going to come back with a strong vengeance.
I think Minnesota is going to come back with a strong vengeance. Okay. See, whatever. You got to mention them.
You got to mention them for just because even though they can change up a lot. So it's just like next year, we're going to see another maybe small market team win it all. But I think this is, I think we should really just, if we're just talking about Boston right now, so they won the title, just cherish it. They finished their accomplishment.
Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown don't have to prove anything else really. They were all stars all NBA, not a no-tain them or a Brown don't have MVP, but shit, I'd rather take a title over an MVP. Especially Jalen Brown got finals MVP. So that's basically his MVP trophy.
I think that was just like, all right. I don't know. Is it possible that they break up the team maybe two, three years from now? Well, it depends on the contract situation because both of these guys are going to get paid.
That's Tatum's Tatum's up next. Yeah, yeah. And they're going to pay both of them. But now you know the formula, right?
You know the type of players you need to put around them to win the title with them as your focal point. And now they know what it takes to win a title as well. So they have experience and you saw that play out in the series. I think that I don't want to look at the entries as a reason why they won because they won 64 games all year and teams were healthy during the season.
So they just, they, so throughout the regular season, they were way better than everybody goes. But you saying that, but you wasn't picking, he but had no chips here. On Boston with his shit. And I don't think anybody did any of us.
I don't think anybody did any of us, I don't think anybody on the roof. Because the way we talked about it, did anybody pay off started. Did anybody pay off some fee, well, maybe I think Boston and seven when, when, um, I think Boston said when a series started, I didn't pick Boston before, then I think I was always on the Denver train, I was like, no, it could be different and 7 until Minnesota beat them at 7. But was crazy.
That we talking about a team of, we talking about them like they was the Miami Heat team in the boat. I was like the that you see that went to the championship or one of those times that Miami went to championship. But like you said, can't they have been winning all this time and we still didn't give you a fuck? Cause we just, we had to see it to believe it.
Like, and to me that says, that says that this is not gonna last that long. Like this is it. It may not, but I think, you know, I like in the playoffs, when the playoffs came around, cause you know, I didn't watch them, shit damn near it all in the regular season. Cause you know, this is Boston, like who was talking about Boston, but in the playoffs, I wanted to see, I watched them in the games and I missed them loud, but I would go, you know, at NBA.com, so I'll go back and watch them.
And again, it didn't look like the team, I see how they're playing, I was like, how was this team when I went to title? But yet they always find ways in the win of these games and shit, by double digits, it never really looks aesthetically pleasing. So, you know, so when I'm sitting here listening to everything and talking to the guys about it, asking me these questions and I'm like, okay, you guys are questioning what they've done, but when we talk about the Pacers, like the way the Pacers, everybody's hot on the Pacers, right? So you constantly have the guard different people.
When it goes to the Mavericks, you're carting two people, bro. That's it. So it's a lot easier. And then when it comes to Dallas, think about what Dallas had to guard.
They just really had to focus on Anthony Edwards because Pat kept getting a foul trouble and he'd go bearing shit. But we built up Dallas based off who they beat and it was some good teams. Like you think about it, they start off with the Clippers who have James Harden and PG, which I mean granted, again, they always in the playoffs. I'm just saying they always in the playoffs, Ken.
So that's all right. Don't forget why I was, well, why only played with two games, that series. And then it went to OKC, right? It was after that was OKC.
And I was young and in experience. And then in this case, Minnesota, Minnesota should have been, though, I don't know what happened with Minnesota. That was the thing. That was Anthony Edwards ran his mouth.
The comedy we saw is what the cow, what the cow really should have saw in that series. But he ran his mouth in the Denver series. Like that never should have been seven. And Denver, I don't know what happened to Denver.
That was Michael, Michael, Michael, on a trick off that series. But it was a 20. Yeah, Michael, he tricked off that series. I think they, I really don't think that they thought that Minnesota could win that series.
And again, I'm in total agreement with you guys. I don't want to diminish what Boston is doing, but Nick is right. They had in this playoff run. I mean, if we take a look at it in the grand scheme of things, very similar to the run that the Warriors had a couple of years ago, remember that run that they had when they went to the finals and beat the Celtics team?
They were benefiting from the fact that they weren't playing and some of the teams that they played against, the stars were hurt. It is what it is. I mean, playoff time, you can only play who's in front of you. I get it.
I don't want to take anything away from Boston, but I mean, yeah, the East, this run for them has been was very easy. But at the end of the day, they got it done. The only question I have is, is how does a U-Doke feel right now? He got it.
Well, he had to let that go. Because once he got caught, once he got caught, he was thinking about things outside of basketball. It was more than a game for him. So he got to let that go.
He got to go. To me, he's like, he know what he had. It's almost like an alternative universe that we're having to mark Jackson, which as far as I hear, like, you know what you have. And then for some how, some way, it doesn't go your way and you get kicked out, you screwed up.
And then now, they're in the moment of going, all he had to do was wait, say, Nick, Mark Jackson. And it was like a year or two later. Like, and then you win the title, which is crazy. It's like, you stay on that coach's staff for about two more years.
You are, because this is literally, you don't just mean, this is literally his thing. This is his team. And he would win the coach that they wanted to fire last year. And they probably asked him his head next year.
But he's now the fifth black head coach to win an NBA title for the Celtics. So they just got five black coaches that won the title game. That's crazy when you think about it, because I remember watching the Celtics is if, and you be hard pressed to find two blue, like people on the team. But they always had a black coach.
Historically, they got the most successful black coach in NBA history. Are you guys, I noticed all about Boston. And I thought, I thought, Tatum was really good tonight. And I thought Brown definitely did a good job of closing.
But, Kyrie and Luca, bro, like, Kyrie had five points at halftime and Luca had not. And he had, he got four of those points with like a minute to go in the second half. Like they didn't show up at all. Is Boston, you know that wasn't going to happen.
They've been showing Kyrie's numbers against Boston versus when he's not in, when he won't get anybody else. And it's insane. It's literally, I'm telling you, it's the ghost of racism. Red Arabach is probably in his head this whole time.
Because it doesn't make sense. It don't make sense for you to see the Kyrie and Dallas. And then you come back to Boston. And it's like, you see it can't nine point or like five points.
It's just like, we know how great, we've seen them in the finals be great in worse circumstances. You know what I'm saying? And it's just like, is it age? Is it just the stage?
You know, I was just about to go to it. I think it goes like, when the game first started, we set it in the chat. The in game four, everything for Dallas was in the paint. Luka and Kyrie were running to the paint.
Tonight, everything was outside. All every shot that they took in the first quarter of the damn it was an outside jumper or three. And when you, that's cool if you're making those shots, but you're not making them. So at some point at the time, Ken said, well, you know, kid will make the people he'll course correct and you know, get them to get better shots.
It never happened. It never happened. The lives that we saw against Minnesota, those rarely happened in this series. And they had a height advantage, particularly when KAP wasn't out there.
So you know, kid probably should get some blame. He ain't going to get a whole lot of blame. Because you know, he did, I guess, best he could. But Kyrie and Luka, and unfortunately, Kyrie's going to get the blame for this, because of his piss pole performances in Boston.
Luka's going to share some blame because he's the star. But not all of that talk about the best back quarter ever and all this stuff like that. They just didn't, they didn't bring it. I mean, like, this is the final.
So you have to put up and check all the stuff about this. Like if you average 25, and play out, you got to average 30, 35. You have to take it up another level. You can't depend on Lively and Jones.
You can't depend on those guys to give you 15, 20. Because that's not in their game. Your stars got to be stars. And fortunately for Boston, their stars were way, way bigger than Dallas's stars.
Kyrie and Luka actually took a step back. But maybe this might propel them next year. But I'm interested to see how that team will look next year, you know, because you guys surround them with shooters. And they just don't have a lot of shooters right now.
And Ken, I know you want me to throw some heat towards Luka. I will. Because, well, I'll say this. I said this earlier in the series, when I picked me my prediction, I was like, nobody really, like when you're young, going into your first finals, you're not really playing well.
And I think it sparked my memory about what happened with Boston when they faced Golden State. But then I looked at that historically, like most people's first finals, they trash. So they don't get blown out or they don't really even make it competitive. You can go just throughout the history as far as the young stars will eventually win one.
Their first finals hardly ever go out. Unless it's like the Lakers with magic or with Kobe and Shaq. But that was Shaq's second finals. That was Kobe's first.
So it was the best player. So like if you're a best player, that's their first finals, usually they're not going to win it. They're not going to do that well. You make LeBron James, for example.
But for Luka, to me, it was just more of, it was about that one too. And you could see that he was up and down with that one too, as far as like, are you playing deep or are you going to really play a defense, commit? It wasn't like how we saw with Duane Wade in the heat in 06 when he was down. He was like, you could tell Wade wanted that brain.
Like he tapped into Michael Jordan with his Chicago roots. And he just went off outside of that with Luka. It was just kind of like, you see him be lazy. You see him be complacent.
You see him settle. You see him just complain. Like, it's just like, something like, oh yeah, you don't care about this game. We're not like you don't care about this game, but you're not going to win the game doing that.
And that's, if you're the best player doing, if you're the best player, average in 30, then you got to do more. In that case, you got to be able to be more flexible. But the reason why I go back to Kyrie is because that's Kyrie. This is not his first time here.
So it doesn't make sense for him to only average. He should have been one of average in at least 25 consistently. All this time. We were we coming into the series.
We weren't even questioning Kyrie. We were all like, this is on Luka. But then when we started questioning Kyrie, it's like, OK, well, Luka, we can't put much on Luka if Kyrie ain't doing his part. But at the same job, but if Luka is the best player and if he would have won this title, we would all say he'd not all of us.
But the media would have said that he's the best player in the world. He got to get that criticism. So like, yeah, he added next one. I think that he wasn't getting back on the first time.
He was out of the series. He's going to be open. Yeah, nine points have in a close our game is in an excuseable. And before that, he had five just like, just like I read, you know, and I think people going to look at the final number much like Joker.
Yeah, the numbers at the end of the day are going to look great. But he was that padding in the fourth quarter. So, you know, he just throwing shit up and Kyrie, same thing. I think he had like two, three, and four of just barely get to 15.
You know, so I don't know, man, I'll be curious and see what I got to hear with. I definitely want to hear what the rest of them say tomorrow because they would tell you would talk big shit. But people, people and show you know, people are going to be there tomorrow. You know, people are going to be there tomorrow.
This man said, what do you say? Five, six, he said, yeah, he was talking. He was like, yeah, he was talking about something like that. He said, a million or five.
He called. I don't get the taste again, but not it's a five. Yeah, he's a best best, best, best do whatever. It's way and odd.
Best do whatever, but they got that. So that's why he said, let me check. Never say that in the shot unless it says guy. But now I think that he's going to get he's going to get shit on the mall for sure.
He's definitely going to get shit on the mall. He ain't got to carry. But again, y'all get props to Boston. They did it.
This made me the last time. Are they tying out with the Lakers at 18? No, no, they won up. That's why many had many.
They watched. That's why they didn't watch the finals. They didn't want to see it win. I thought the Lakers last two titles put them one up over Boston.
Or they just tied with Boston. Boston's yeah, they tied Boston's up one now. And it's interesting, man, because like even as you're talking about Luke and Kyrie, I was thinking like this, you got to seize the moment, man, because you just you never know. Conventional wisdom tells you that you might be back.
I mean, you got enough talent to get back, but a lot of teams never get back. And I mean, like you just you just never know. And we like last year when we saw Denver against Miami, I don't think anybody gave Miami a shot at winning. And if Jimmy Butler never wins, we know that Jimmy Butler's a warrior.
I don't think people are going to like hold that over your head. But Lucas will be an all-time great player, one of the best ever. Kyrie is, you know, one of the best playmakers, one of the best finishes. I mean, he gets all the accolades.
He's already won a title, but I'm sure he would love to win a title without LeBron. But you know, you just don't know when you go, you don't know if you're ever going to get back. And that's why I think we can't have to like seize these moments because so much happens from the end of the season to the start of the new season, complacency sets in. Guys get injured, some guys get money.
You know, if I'm a team and Derek White is a free agent, I'm one after Derek White. I want to point out, like, do you see how much do you see how much do you make? Do you see how much money they like he's potentially a schedule to make? Like his contract is when I see it.
I didn't see it. They're saying that it's potentially like a four year, a hundred and eighty, hundred and seventy five million dollar contract. I don't think I'm out for Derek White. Yeah.
But then I look at the context. But to me, this is like Derek White on a championship team is hella valuable, right? He's Derek White though by himself. How valuable is he?
No. You know, you can't put Derek White or you can put him on a land. I expected to do the same thing, but that's what champions are for a contender. I mean, you put him on a team like Denver or you put him on a team like, I don't know, let the Lakers or something.
That guy, his game is totally different. And they, like I said, he and Drew Holiday are guys that do things that don't necessarily show up in the stat sheets and it pays dividends when you win the title with them. Speaking of Drew, he definitely talked himself into a Hall of Fame career, in my opinion. Hall of Fame?
Oh, wait, Hall of Fame? You know, the dudes that's already in there. That's what I'm going off to do is that's already in there. Well, I mean, I think it's letting people know.
That's what I'm going off for the standard of the Dave said, Kya, it ain't not. It ain't all we might get it. That's what I mean, all of the things I'm saying. I'm just saying, she's standing there.
They said, you know, I mean, he won two titles with two different teams in what a five years span. He's been the best. He was one of the best defensive players in his position. Probably the last 10 years.
He's been all in the NBA. Defensively, I think that's the thing. When people start talking about Hall of Fame, then I think is because basketball is a different football because it's the basketball hall of fame. So they include what you did in college.
If you played overseas or if you played in the Olympics, so they encompass all that as opposed to just your pro career. So I always ask like, OK, I don't necessarily weigh a lot with all-star games because the fans have voted that. So because the fans vote, Yao Ming is always going to beat out because he gets the Chinese votes. You know, but my thing was, OK, if you talk about a player's Hall of Fame player, or at least a caliber Hall of Fame player, did they make an all NBA team?
How many times are you? First team all NBA or the second team all NBA? Those are the crème bill of crème. And if nowadays not on that type list, then I'm not I can't say he's all a thing.
What about what about all defensive? Does that matter? That matters because that's it. So right now, right now, his career is two time NBA champion, two time NBA all-star, three time all NBA defensive first team and three time all NBA defensive second team.
That's not enough. You got to be all NBA first team or second team or 13. I could tell you Allen obviously led the league in steals three times in his career. You probably never knew that because you don't think an Allen obviously has a defender or an elite defender.
He was a great off the ball defender. He wasn't going to stand in to rip you, but he led the league in steals three times. So you know, the stats can be a little bit misleading if you let it. Again, it's no knock on the true holiday.
I just don't when I think through holiday, I don't think Hall of Fame. My MP always says this. If you got to think of when somebody says your name and they say Hall of Fame, if you got to think about it, they probably not Hall of Fame. Yeah, when you look at his career, not like I'm not comparing him to a Durali, but I'm saying like he doesn't have the title of course, but you look at everything else.
This dude did everything. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And I mean, and that doesn't keep him out.
And like I said, if I didn't tell you that he led the league three times in steals, you would have never known because he wasn't known for defense holidays. He's built up a very good resume and who knows if they can run it back and he gets another ring and he's, you know, has a dominant performance, who knows? But I mean, like there's some guys that we just know that the youngest is Steph Curry's. The those guys, upper echelon of those guys, those guys are Hall of Fame.
I mean, it's just really about, you know, solidifying what they've done. I think it's safe to say if they keep on this trajectory, you take him in Brown to be Hall of Fame. It's at some point. Oh, they got a lot more.
Yeah. I mean, but you know what, man was weird. I didn't realize Tatum was like 26, 27. I mean, like he's literally scratching the surface as far as his prime.
And that's the upside of this boss and team that it's weird. Cause like I kind of agree with you that I think they're not going to really win. They're not going to go on a run. But if you again, if you look on paper, this should have been a team that went multiple times beforehand.
It's going to be a team that went multiple times afterwards, so I only are most of them are not under there well under 30. And they're going to be under contract until they're for the rest of their prime. But essentially, at least the big key guys, maybe presenting his sticks around, but you got J. Lyn Brown, Jason Tatum and you just need maybe one more other guy that you could probably get to see or to draft.
And then you'll be kind of set for the next five to eight years. But I mean, this is the guy I really need. Even to your point, Nick, everybody else around the league is getting better. Almost every team around the league is getting better.
And I mean, we can even look at the team like Memphis, a team that we knew that was probably capable at the very least of making it to the Western Conference finals a couple of years ago, Jog gets hurt, Jog gets in trouble, whatever, whatever. Josh, assuming that Jog comes back stronger and healthy and everything with his mind, right? They're going to be in the mix. Those boys, OK, see if they can figure it out.
I mean, those was like 21, 22 years old, the quarter team. I mean, so and again, it's not to say that Boston couldn't do it. It's just, I think Adam Silver has kind of looked at what the NFL has done. And he's modeled that because they would love for the NBA.
They don't want to have super teams. I mean, we see that already. The salary cap is structured to where you can have a super team unless you draft your players Denver, they drafted their stars Boston, they drafted their stars. But the days of going to get two or three guys and bringing them on one team, the numbers are going to add up.
Look at Phoenix, Phoenix has three great start. Well, two and two and a possible. That's why it's hard to get like a bad space and two and a possible. But I mean, like they can't because of the way the salary cap is structured, they can't surround those guys with other talented players.
So it's like Adam Silver wants this. He wants parity in this league. And I think NBA, they want the fans to feel like every year that their team has a shot because a lot of teams do. Well, well, right now, Boston, this team is set.
So they have 11 players under contract. And there are lists and this is an obliques report of unrestricted free agents consist of just those small, mock, Luke kick, wherever that was. That's got these women Lakers, Xavier Tillman and Luke Cornette. Like nobody's nobody.
Yeah, David Tillman, David, get on the court tonight. Masula was rather go play small and damn near cost them for every second. Then put Tillman in the game. They're not.
I see that. Yeah. And that's the reason why you kind of just have to grow with Boston. Because we look at everybody else and he's no one.
Definitely be a favorite. No one is no one is built to where like, OK, we got this where you got guarantees around that you outside of Boston, no one on the East and in the West, I mean, the West is just going to they're going to be them. You know, they're going to kill themselves. They go, you know, they're they're whoever comes out the West is going to be exhausted and tired or you know what I'm saying?
Like, but like by the time they get out of that gauntlet, Boston or whoever else is just going to have a probably an easier path. But I don't know. I don't know. I think I think when you bring up Memphis, I think I think I think I'm not saying that job is done.
I think that that's why they got the close. I think that window kind of closed because I mean, because I mean, we really got outside of the job that you trust. I mean, Jackson, maybe he's a great defecisulator, but I like the fact that they're young and I think the youth and again, because everywhere now, yeah, I mean, you're right. And it doesn't go well for the team like the Lakers or or maybe even a team like Denver who are their cores entering the mid part of their prime and these injuries and stuff started pile up.
But I just think like right now, with the youth movement, it's really just even Minnesota. I mean, like they took a bigger step than we probably thought that they take, you know, to make it to the Western Conference Finals is saying something. So I just think like it's hard. And then even for a team like Boston, even though your two stars are entering their prime and they're, you know, lights out a dynamic duo, I think the problem that you're going to run into is complacency.
We tend to forget the NBA season is a long as season and a lot of teams, man, they should, we see it every year. They try to get to Christmas and if they can get to Christmas, then they once they try to get to Christmas, you know, free free free playing decent basketball, then they try to get to the all-star break. Once they get to the all-star break, then you start to see teams that kind of turn it up. And then for the teams who are struggling, they have to try to turn it on.
And sometimes it's the veteran teams, the teams who have already won and you're thinking, oh, yeah, they'll turn it on. We've been saying the same thing about Golden State for the last few years. But I mean, like that's which is off for them. But I mean, like a team like Boston, I can see them kind of being, you know, four or 50 in the middle of the season and then trying to turn it on, you know, toward the end of the season.
But we'll see, man, it's I just, I just think like with the way the parody is set up in the league, man, I don't, it's going to be hard for anybody to repeat because everybody's coming at you, everybody's gunning at you. And, you know, the talent is there. I got a question for you guys. Before we close out, so Tatum and Brown, they finally check the box.
They got the ring, it's over, it's done. So I'm looking to just ship the hell up forward. Who are we going to yell at next? It's the question.
Right. Well, next, it's number one easiest. Lucas on that list. If not, he should be number one on that list.
Yeah, I think I wouldn't, but maybe Shay, maybe on that list. Everybody be. I took him off because I mean, I took him off because I did. He should be on that list.
He should be on the list. But I'm saying I would, I took him off because I think he's exiting his, like, he's in, he's less at his prime in my opinion than he was a few years ago. So if he does win a ring, I don't think he'll do it as the best player. And I think that's what this list is about is like when you like Tatum and Brown, like, that's, we still have this argument.
Like who's the best player, either way, regardless of who you pick, we're going to be like, all right, that's the best they led that team with Luca. If he would want to title, we would say he led that team. If indeed went to the finals and won, we would say that. But I think over the next couple of years, I don't think we'll be saying that moving forward, I think indeed we'll get traded or move on from Philly.
And then whatever team he's on is obviously he's going to have to co-cap it. I'm just going off with the people right now. I don't want to take them off. I'm going off with the people right now who's bonafiled, like they're the leader of their team and you have to come join them.
So I think it's just Luca, Shay, and I guess indeed. What about what about Yannes? I know he's got one, but are we, are we, are we done? Can we still yell at Yannes?
I think, well, my, that was my thing is like, how many rings do you need to like solidify? Like you could have one, but I mean, like to solidify yourself now. Because I'm looking at it, it's like even though Brown and Tatum one, one, they've been to it like seven Eastern Conference finals. They're all still under 30.
So like this one isn't going to really satisfy it answers the question that they can't get it done. That's easy. Okay. They check that box up.
But as far as them being all time greats, like the history records are going to show based off the numbers, based off the wins, based off the success as a franchise over there span from when Brown got drafted to where they are now, they're going to be like, the only one title. You know what I mean? Like that's the, that's what he's talking about. Yeah.
But Perry, Perry wasn't like that. Perry wasn't like that throughout the whole iteration. But he's saying about that. Go ahead, Kyle.
Right. Here's where I always will push back, respectively, when people say that, because people say, well, you only won one ring. There's only one winner every year. And it is hard as hell to win a ring.
And I think Jordan and that whole discussion as much as I love Mike, that whole discussion about multiple rings, I think that really kind of it messes with people's minds to think like everybody's supposed to win multiple rings. The reality is it's hard as hell to do it. And it's even harder to do it back to back. So when you start, that's why I mentioned Giannis, I wouldn't, you know, because I think Giannis is all time a great player, you know, and definitely one of the best in this generation.
But I wouldn't be mad if he didn't win another one because it's so hard. And I mean, we see now injuries and all that stuff like that and complacency. And then, you know, the teams, the teams that he's going up against have gotten better, where you can say that his team took a step back a couple of years ago. It looked like AB World, but he was an eight repeat and go, you know, win multiple rings.
And everything changes. The NBA probably like more so like the NFL. Now every year is totally different. You can't even roll into what you had in the previous year and think that you're going to have that kind of success the next year.
It's just, it's not shaping up to happen that way. But I mean, when I look across the landscape, I guess we could be mad at Kawhi, but I mean, are we really, I mean, are you going to yell at Kawhi and Paul George? Probably not. It's probably not.
You know, I was like, oh, I got to straight Paul George. I went harder. I think the thing is like, I think when I think about like what we've done on the show is we've questioned guys that were supposed to be the guys. Giannis was one that was like, Oh, where you at?
Giannis, can you get a ring? And sometimes we like, can you even get to a finals? Can you play in a finals? We did that for Chris Paul for years.
So there's, can you get to a finals and lose? And also can you get to a finals and win? Giannis got there one. All right.
We done. Shut him up. We've done talking about him. Tatum was the one that we talked about a lot.
Joker was one on my list that I talked about. Y'all telling this guy's break. Can you get a title? We got one.
OK, cool. It's over and done with. So I think one is enough, at least for some reason that we've criticized. I think that's what you know, we're changing and moving the goal post a little bit now.
So now it's looking at who's next that need to get one. So yeah, you put and you put and on that list. And it's on that list. He's getting close.
