NC Senate passes bill requiring sheriff-ICE cooperation

The North Carolina Senate passed legislation Tuesday that would require county sheriffs statewide to work more closely with federal immigration officials, sending the measure to Gov. Josh Stein's desk.The Criminal Illegal Alien Enforcement Act passed the House in April and now awaits the governor's signature after clearing the Senate on Tuesday.
