NC State Fair in 2024 with Heather Overton

Segment 3, October 19th, 2024 The Carolina Outdoors is celebrating the harvest with the 2024 NC State Fair.  Host Bill Bartee speaks with Heather Overton with NC State Fair Show Highlights: Western NC is well represented in this year’s fair.  They bring a strong contingent of apples, pumpkins, livestock, & crafts The Flower and Garden Show includes a Mum Tree that is a great place for a photo The Giant Pumpkin Exhibit is getting a lot of attention as the Fair starts There are 70 new foods including in this year’s Fair.  BBQ, Chicken, Desserts & Bacon-Wrapped & Cheese on a Stick are celebrated each year. Overton says bring friends & family & share food.  It allows you to try a larger variety. The campground on the Fairgrounds are closed during the Fair but open and popular when the Fair is closed A miniature horse-pull is “something to watch” on October 26th.  No ticket needed to the Horse Complex. Things You’ll Learn by Listening: Horse Shows are held everyday during the Fair in the Hunt Horse Complex.  Remember to get your hands stamped so you can re-enter.
