I guess. What up everybody? Thank you guys for joining us this evening. We are back.
We have two games that we have to talk about that occurred over the this past weekend. So yeah, we're going to get into that and actually right now with some news breaking out. So we've got into that too. We appreciate you guys joining us this evening.
And yeah man we're gonna go ahead and kick this thing off. So I was looking for something. I should say the second game. You're funny.
Anyway, alright so we appreciate everybody. Oh happy birthday Rob. Happy birthday. Happy birthday Rob.
Happy birthday Rob. Happy birthday. Yeah man. Let's go.
Don't catch up to me. That means that's a wrap for me, bro. Alright so yep anyway. We got a whole crew here.
We got Chilting. We got Spike. Yep. Yep.
Alright man let's go ahead and get into it. This is the place where sports beings collide. Dennis, boys and girls can be in. Joining me we got Spike.
What up though? We got Chilting. We got FIFO. Welcome back Chilting.
We last week bro. It was. It was man. I was there.
I was there. He's like I can't do this. I'm out. I'm out.
And then we'll be some battle. I'm going to be out of you. So we got to have you back. Shout out to Nick for joining in.
We appreciate it. Let me try this. Let me try this. I hope I don't think I did.
We still out on YouTube. Alright. I'll still see you. Okay.
Anyway. So we are here. You guys see the title. You guys know what we're talking about.
I'm going to get into that. But before we went live there were a couple of things that happened right now. So LeBron is pulling a shell. He's right.
He's not showing up. And AD out in the game versus the Warriors tonight. You know we got so that is interesting. We don't know what's going on with that.
So we'll see. And Y'all just got somebody say LeBron James will play tonight. So evidently the Lakers are saying he's going to play AD out with a headache and nausea. Pringers, symptoms.
Wow. No, I think he's still you got expression. I right. Oh did he something happened right?
Yeah. I think it's awesome. Yeah. And Y'all just got carted off.
Carrot off the court. So yeah. So yeah. I don't know those things.
But we don't care about that right now. Let's go to college basketball. And we're going to open with our queens this evening. The South Carolina gamecocks completed their undefeated season by beating the Iowa Hawkeyes only in Felix NNA.
Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. So we love you guys. We thank you. I thank you for doing what you did this this past Sunday.
I appreciate it. That was my high felt. What was y'all? How did y'all feel as I try to avoid from losing my white man coming and trying not to do left.
I'm not. What was y'all reaction to the game? Oh, I'm a huge Don Staley fan. She was like I said, she played for Charlotte's team.
So she was close to home. Don has always been like top two to me. She's a dope point guard. She's a dope person.
Don is just great to me. So I'm really, really happy for her and them girls. Man, they pulled it out. I was playing a live here voice and saying it was an awesome thing.
It really, really was a seed in the way they wanted. This team was not as good as last year's team by the way. So last year's team, actually, should have, like I was saying about Don, she's one 10 and three in her last three seasons. So that's remarkable in itself.
And it's not even talked about enough. We talked about Caitlin Clark so much that they've skipped over the non-coverage and how dominant she's been. It's been remarkable what she's been able to do with that team. Like I said, this team was a good team.
It was a good team. Last year they had, you know, in my opinion, more talent than they had this year. But this year's team was able to get it done and pulled off a historic run. I think it's only the 10th team with the field.
Yeah. Genos had a couple of those. But you see, this is what I wanted to say. I don't disagree with you.
I agree with every single thing that you say. But when it comes to coaching, it's more about longevity. I do agree that she should have gotten more flowers, more coverage this year for completing under-feed the season. Yes, they are talking about Caitlin Clark the most in women's college basketball followed by Juju, followed by, I can't even imagine.
I can imagine you, I can imagine you. Yeah. So you know what I'm saying? So like she has fallen down that totem pole of coverage.
But again, for coaches, it's more about a little bit longevity. Let's see how many, for the next three seasons, what's her record? If it's 226, then she got to the top of the media coverage regardless of whatever what player is doing. Now we're in Frigging on Pac-Summing, now we're in Frigging on Geno.
Now we're in Fringing top three, top five greatest ever women's basketball coaches ever. But I think it's too early to put her in that category. But obviously she's at the door saying, she's waiting on the elevator. You know what I'm saying?
There's a lot of stories to get up there. But she's right there. She's just waiting for it to come figure up. Yeah, I agree.
I think she did an amazing job. So I have to align with an amazing job. I'm not sure they were as interesting as Juju's as the agency. Yeah.
They didn't have a lot of the music. I think it's like thinking to me it's what you call it. It wasn't a lot to talk about other than being as good as they were and that they really going for a great story. But I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed watching my enjoy them. Seeing them being taken Clark. I did wonder since you're going to have so much turnover with Reese Leavin with Clark Leavin, you said the majority of South Carolina, they leaving? No, they're moving back.
They got the bench. They reloaded it. So they'll be right back. They'll be right back.
I am really paying attention to the storylines and how women's college basketball takes having one of the most high-s rated games that they've had off Swatch, other than football. And how they go into next season and capitalize off it. I want to see, I know Juju, but who else is it going to be? That's what I'm really looking forward to.
You need individual stars to carry it. South Carolina as a team is definitely dope. But like you said, the individual stars to Juju's, the Caitlin Clark's and Angelou's and some of those individual players are Paige from Connecticut, Paige. You know, she's even two?
No, she's standing actually. They actually are rating hers the number one player coming back over Juju. But that's what the ratings have. They said they're paces.
But that's what they got. They got Juju's number two. How old is that possible? It's media.
And not the down-pays. Before her injuries, she was like that. I know. I have her people say.
But we've seen Juju put, and Paige is good. I did notice her, but she got a miller clip. She got like a rip Hamilton type game. It ain't never really, it's cool.
You know, you got 16 to 18 points. Juju got like a, I ain't never seen her. She got like this one. She got size, straight, that lettuce, that's the model, stuff to go along with.
She got a super smooth game. She can do pretty much anything she wanted to do in a basketball court. The only way I could see them having her number one is because of the team aspect. I know Juju team.
Yeah, and we talk about ranking them as players. Like I said, the only real reason I would think that, well, we know what they're doing it, but other than that, the only reason you can say is because Paige was supposed to be that before she got hurt. She got hurt. She's gonna be like Caitlin though.
She was not a Paige. Yeah, she was supposed to be that. Yeah, but in terms of like shooting the three, you know, like that. She got a penalty.
Like me and grades. Yeah, she was not like that. She was not going to be Caitlin. No, she was not.
At all. So yeah, that's so why did you say it makes sense to you? You got a mic? I mean, because Paige is like I said, but one she is similar.
She was supposed to be Caitlin before Caitlin, but on top of that, she's more she's two way. So I can play Caitlin on both ends. Juju and Juju is not efficient. On top of it, Juju is not efficient as much as I loved you.
She is not an efficient score yet. Yeah, but if she's not an efficient score, so I would definitely. And Paige has a better situation. So I mean, perfectly makes sense why I paid for me next.
Yeah, I get all that. The biggest storyline on that game that was Raven Johnson, let me Raven Jackson. No Raven Johnson. No Raven Johnson.
No, no for the latter. Yeah, 25. Wow. She came back after she cost him last year.
When Caitlin Clark waved her off, not just the wave off. Oh, that was last year. Yes, I was in for that all game, bro. Yeah, that was last year.
So last year they basically dared her to shoot and her nerves got the best of her. She wouldn't really. They never opened all game. And she told me to do no shots.
Right. I told him I know what to do. Yes. No, you told him I know what to do.
Jackson. Yeah, you told him I know what to do. Jackson. She best of you over jumped off.
Yeah, if she was the one that's in the shell. It was still waving. She was awful. But the biggest, the biggest thing was the fact that she came back and played defense and stood up to keep defense.
Great. But she, yeah, she could not hit shit. She, bro, I was like, when I saw that I was like, made for the moment, bro. Like, no, I was like, you got to.
That's no, she had her winning. She played point guard, right? Yes, she played. Her resume is great.
She had a bad game. And the finals. That I can't, you know, I didn't know. Your final game was awful.
But I didn't realize. God, you know, I didn't realize every time she shot, like she'll make this. So once I see it with the layover, I didn't even realize she's one for them. Yeah, I mean, I never heard nobody mention it and I watched the whole game.
I just didn't pay no attention to that. You know, the defense that they was playing on Caitlyn Clark. And I said it in the chat, I was like, you know, when they went up, T and I was like, don't worry. And they come and they know exactly what they're doing right now.
And this is like a setup to get them once they calm down, everything's going to make sense for South Carolina and indeed. And they could not have won this game without her. I didn't realize she's one for 11. Yeah.
I mean, I agree with that. I mean, I think the defense was good. Caitlyn started up hot and eventually cooled off. I, that was my first, that was the first, my first time watching South Carolina, you know, but I know, and because I, but we were here and, and so I didn't get a chance to watch the game.
I watched the game Sunday night. So I got home and I was folding, hanging up close. It was late, like really late. And, and he is when I turned it on ESPN and I got the replay, you know, no commercials.
It was like, I would twinning some minutes. I like that. We can do this. It was like 12 o'clock.
And then we got sort of fourth quarter and that damn video turned off. So I had to find another one. It was two and a half hours. So I had to watch the whole fourth quarter.
And you know, I would kind of kept it close along with the reps. But the next thing I know was three something Monday morning. I was like, Jesus Christ, watching that. You can just wait until the man's game.
I was like, I should have when I, when I woke up the next thing, I was like, you always wake up early. You know, regardless of what time you go to bed. But it was, it was, it was entertaining to watch. But the one man was was Tesla.
Yeah. Yeah. It was a freshman. Yeah.
She was like, she was like, so there's that the one that's super athletic one for a while. Whatever name is. Yeah. For a while, man.
She was killing them too. Yeah. She, she, they both had good games and they, you know, both of them would be back next year. It was crazy.
It's Raven to be back. All those, all those years of coming back next year except for Cordosas. I think they may lose maybe one other player if I can't remember who though, but I know Cordosas is, is going with everybody else pretty much is back. You're welcome back.
All that that that assists me in watching is who dunk one time this year. You bring in Joyce Joyce. Joyce Edwards, I think it is. That's my brother.
But she's nice. I think she's a good country. And then she got signed. It's got shoot and they got another big that's coming in.
They got a couple of guards, another point guard that's nice and fluid, smooth. Don't load up. Yeah. And I like, you know, she got them to, you can see it.
It's like, it's just we night to win the game. It don't matter who. And that's what I like. Just why not?
I saw that just in that one game. Like they're very unselfish and that was really, really dope to see. And I was really curious and it was like Hannah Stokke who was like, she's a trader of their race. She, I was like, man, if they let this, if Cordova let her put up 20 something, the way she did against her.
I was like, man, I'm over. I'm over. They said that she brought a stake shut her ass out. They should have, well, she had a little run in points, but I think that was when Cordova was out.
Yeah. But yeah, but yeah, but yeah, you know, what's the mother mother fucking one doing? It was like, we all going to do Caitlin one shit later. And I said, that's how I believe the game plan was, you know, you know, Caitlin car going to get off.
Yeah, I'm going to see if you can't on her wear her down and don't let nobody else beat you because they wasn't switching on under those screens. They kept running out the high screen and there was no switching. Everybody stay home. Everybody stay with a man and everybody played responsible defense.
It was no switching. And I was like, that's the way you play defense on a killer like that. Eventually that shot stopped falling and, you know, they rattled her. That was in her shit.
So she really couldn't do it. And before you knew it, South Carolina had taken control of that game and they never let it go once they got it. All right. Well, yeah, it was record breaking game, 18.7 million viewers, which is the most game since 2019, it's looking for the Olympics in the World Cup.
After that, I'm just reading the proper. Oh, yes, I'm else. Well, I don't think I was going to say about that. It's crazy how everybody, my mom was watching this run.
Everybody tuned in for this run. And I'm saying like, these are just in general, all of them came in the car, can't dream. Well, you know, you talk to a lot of kids. My family is talking to a lot of kids.
I'm saying as women in general was tuning in, like, and it was more, you know, it was all the storylines combined. So you had to do you. You had to kick the car. You know, all this stuff was, you know, you had to pick a side and which people did across America, but women was tuning in and usually don't beat that way.
And now, like I said, you got women who were not even interested in the game now paying attention to the game and I'm interested to see like we talked about how this goes forward. I don't stay involved. That's what I was going to ask. We'll get to that.
But apparently it's the worst game of the week. I'm just reading the problem. We're seeing a week was played yesterday with the Purdue Boilermakers taking the big loss of the Yukon Huskies. Did y'all even watch this game we care about?
Yes. What's the start getting? Yeah. What's the start getting away from Purdue?
I got out of there. I'm not watching Zach, Edie, Dwumber around. This is the more it has bad people. None of these people going to the NBA didn't look like he's going to go, but I definitely agree with, with your, with arenas.
It's like, this is what I said a week or so ago as I brought you seven four. All this size was if you were that nice, you would have went to the league here one year You know what I'm saying? Like we don't live in that era where you're gonna play three to four years. You're gonna play one or two if you're really that ready.
Why y'all saying he'll go to the lead to do what? He's going to play a bad couple some. Hey, he's going to play a bad couple some. You got who the Clippers starting big man?
Zuboc. Zuboc, yeah. He could be in a Zuboc type of role. Now the thing about Zuboc is you, Curnie.
No, not really. He did the same thing. Yeah. Like he, he, he needs to develop more of a face up game.
Do I want you jacking up three's? No, but you got to have a 15 to 18 footer game that Zuboc does have. He could face one two more. You know what I'm saying?
Go spin, have a counter to eating, he's working on that aspect of his game. But when you seven four, he can't move for his size. Like you can't teach that. And there are teams, the Golden State Warriors, the void of size.
He tries, bro. I'm not saying I'm not saying he's great. Can all I'm saying is I think he's going to make a lead. You mean like a draft pickle free.
He's going to be a draft pick. He's going to be a draft pick. He's going to be a draft pick to the end of the first round. I'm Milwaukee.
Look for Milwaukee. Take like that draft. I agree. Also, I don't remember who said it on Gilbert's podcast, but I think it was good for himself.
If a team picks this man as a lottery pick, you're going to lose your job within a year. No, he's not a lottery pick. Is he NBA player? I do agree.
Starter on a championship team. Or maybe depending, you know what I'm saying? But like he's not a difference maker, but he's definitely a position of need for a team that doesn't have it. He is a human cigar.
And you bring in. He's got to eat it back. That's what he is. He is a lumbering tree.
Every time he got the ball. I'm like, all right. I'm going to go. I'm going to go.
I'm going to go. I'm going to go. I'm going to go. I'm going to go.
He's going to be triplages next year. That's the biggest. Yeah, you can't go size. And that's it's still needed in the NBA.
You still need it. And the fact that he's skilled. He's got skills. They got away from it though.
Like they don't do that anymore. Like the style of the play don't even fit him. No, right? Not from a back to the basket perspective.
You're not going to feed him like you do Joker or MB. Those are the two true bigs in the league. Ain't even go down there. I'm going to throw you the ball.
Work it. You know, we're going to play inside out, right? He is not that type of big. To me, he's in the plateau of Zuboc.
He's going to be a solid big that you know, can guard other bigs. You know what I'm saying? Get your rebounds, change shots. We even got to get blocked, change shots.
Be able to run up and down the court. Understand that you're going to go five six possessions. If you even touch the ball, you grab it and pass it in and go and send it to the big. Like your game is not going to be what he's coming into the NBA with that.
So I'm going to do what I didn't produce. You're going to be out the league in a year. But if he comes in there understanding, hey, I got to change my game. If I want to make these millions of dollars, he'll be a serviceable big man.
He'll be a pick and roll rim protector. He'll be a pick and get to the basket and get layups. He's not, you know, he can get you be able to get you 10 to 6 and you be happy with that. And you get three, four blocks a game.
That's what you want him for. How crazy. He's not even going to be playing. He's like help.
He is. He might not. He'll shoot him a lot of things. No, no, no.
We are talking potential. And I'm just saying, if he, that's what he's going to be. I don't think that any team would take time out. Like you know, you can't go size, but I'm not willing to make that investment.
It's going to need to be made for him to transition to what we need to. You can do it in the second round, if it's the last pick, if it's your ain't losing out. or you know, undrafted free agent. They probably do that.
Or late first off, if he gets picked between 25 and 30, that's fine. And his stock is rising like this, this tournament, his stock rose. It did unfortunately. Oh, he earned it.
He earned it. He's on 47 10. Can you still got 47 in the team? A lot of that shit was, I saw what this shit was.
I was watching the rest of the game. You still have to go get it though. Bro, come on, get it. That only happened when some of the smaller players came in when you come match them with another bigger player.
He struggled. Can I don't disagree even? Oh, who would have been black boy like Zagron Dolph? Two boys.
DJ Burn. Yeah, DJ Burn. DJ Burn. Hey, bro, you big.
You big as hell. Can't I'm not saying that he's not legal for him. I just don't understand. He has a skill set that translates to the NBA.
Oh, so. Look, I'm not saying ED is going to make or break a championship team. That's not what I'm saying at all. He's a fringe NBA player.
He may not make it. He may not make it. I'm just saying he played enough to get drafted. He shouldn't get drafted in a lottery.
He should get drafted 25 or later. And again, he's a working pro. He mentally is going to be the biggest thing. You come in here thinking that you won't be the bad.
He's going to be out the lead. You understand, let me do whatever it is for me to get minutes. Whether that just means the big white boy, the three of them, big brothers. Yes, the zellers can be in the lead.
Think of the other two. The zellers are fascinating. No, not about the brown. He's got a big black lady.
This nigga like Yao Ming. He looked like I had to look and see what he was. He's like something Canadian. He got that white Canadian looks like Rob Custard.
He got like this. He got like to eat to tone to be American. But this show is too, like basketball, you have to have stars. Basketball.
What we just talked about with the women, just looking at this game for the first half and the second half a little bit. Nothing was interesting about this. Even Zach, he probably was the most popular person in this game. I'm talking about the final.
It was like, bro, I don't want to see them. Like nobody was exciting. Like from the guard position, it was just boring. Slow and late.
No, no, well, I, look, I said this on the last broadcast. First of all, Nick got all the picks wrong. Let me say that. Like, did you remember that?
Bro, everybody wrong. And yeah, so, but, and I'm willing to acknowledge what I don't know. I didn't know. That's why I asked, was you kind of really that good?
And people were telling me that they were. He was, he was watching shit all the time. He was like, yeah, they really good. He broke down.
And then when I was, that's why I wanted to watch the game. And then when I, when I turned on, I was the second half and they were making a run. But I saw it and I saw what was, what made them good. And it was very reminiscent of South Carolina.
Like their ability to, yeah, man, to really like run their sets and never really rush and get all the shots they wanted at any given time. Right. I was doing to the what Purdue was doing. It was, it was, it was, it was, it was a different.
It was a clear difference. And that's what they said about early and that you can't team and then went back to back and then possibly being the next best coach, like give you a, a coach K or is old, whoever you want to call because that system like you don't, I don't got to start player. I just need the right players. Right.
We're going to run this system. We're going to blow y'all out. All right. So let's get back to a passing of the torch, so to speak.
Oh, it's what you guys were getting into before we jumped to the men's game, shot out to them back to back champions for a time since Florida, right? Yeah. Yeah. Who knows they may be on a repeat.
I think the only one that gave them a chance gave them a tough game was, was it Alabama? I'm going to take the close for a little bit. Yeah. Alabama was in there a little bit.
I think that's pretty much it. Everybody was great. I was in there. They were blowing people up by damn near 18 plus 30, which is crazy.
Like I mean, that damn good. Anyway, when it comes to women's college basketball, taking over the spotlight from men's college basketball forward, are we seeing that? And we're going to talk to the Jalen first. What do you think play?
What? And we talked about viewership, not money. I can't call it. I can't call it.
Just because I feel like it should, but it is one stars. And I think you do is going to be a good carry page. It's going to be good carry. Flage, they'll be able to carry this network.
But it's not like people going to tap in until probably the end, the end of like the March Madness and everything else. They won't tap into the final four. Maybe elite eight. Yeah.
I don't really see it happening. Just yet. I was going to be curious to see what happens with them going to the W though. That is going to be a very curious thing to see if people actually tap in because it's around the time nothing else is going on.
And it's not even just, I heard that talk about women, but they ain't like men would check in for women's sports either. I just push it on the window like the women ain't checking. Nick is like, check your boy either. Right.
Well, the reason why I mentioned that though, Jalim, is because a lot of times, you know, people talk about rights and equality and sports and things like that. But a lot of people that were screaming for it were the women that weren't watching. So that's why I mentioned women, men were not checking for it either. But at the same time, they weren't clamoring for it.
The people that clam are for it were not supporting it. So the reason why I mentioned that was they needed to step up and support and they did. I'm glad I'm glad because now it's showing in the numbers. I don't think that that's the difference though.
For me, I think a lot of what we saw this year in women's college is the fact that we saw women's have been that, you know, bird, magic kind of synergy for the last two years. I think the thing that is helping women's college basketball is the fact that even the WNBA players are going to play two to three years. There's not going to be many one in DUNS. So you're going to see them more often, exactly.
So I don't disagree with what Jalim is saying, but I do think that it's going to take a matter of years before the fanfare that we got this year is mainstay in women's basketball because they have less options when it comes to being pros where or in a time from going from high school to college or pros three to four years, they don't have to be there. They have one method. I got to go to college. I got to be at this college two to three, maybe four years where men have way more options.
The reason why the men's NCAA tournament and you talked about it spike is the void of that talent is because you see like the Rock getting hands right now, winter Kentucky, but where did he play the year before? O.T. basketball. You know what I'm saying?
So it's just weird. I think he might be leaving already. Yeah, he's definitely done. He's definitely when it done.
In the men's side, you don't see the biggest names stay multiple years, even Bronby that only played. Yeah, he's leaving all options open just to get feelings like I said, hey, you got the most popular college for me and spotless players. One of the same player. He can't play.
I don't think he's at that level. That's a whole other discussion. But at the end of the day, the men have way more options and because they don't necessarily get to stack rosters, we lose interest when it comes time to win because the NCAA tournament me and my brother was talking about this, the one that has an AAU program in Texas. Shout out Elite Ambassador Basketball.
Coaching has so much to do with high school AU in college. You as a great coach, doesn't matter if you have more talent than me, I can coach you, I can win this game. But to beat out coach to that level means I got a lot of seniors, upperclassmen. They don't been there, they're battle tested.
I talk about in the NBA, I don't trust Minnesota, I don't trust OKCY because they're too young, not because they're devoid of talent. Never done it before. So for me, when I look at the men's versus the women's, the women's in the next four to six years is definitely going to outpace the men. You know what?
We hope that I was equal to be honest with you because I'm like, I like both sides and that was a good take. Because Fauze is going to be on that. Look, Malaysia for a while is going to be one of those players that you look like as women. Malaysia?
Yeah. Yeah. Those names along with the pages and the two dudes are going to be the ones that you're going to look at next year. Those are the four players that you take a look at.
But the women have to be, I think, three years. I think they have to say three years now. Like you said. That's not right.
That's crazy. I think it's still a 21. But that is why you're right. That's why it's different.
You see the synergy because we got time to be together. Not a transfer portal is going to start making a difference because a lot of them ladies are transferring like crazy. They move around just like the men are. But you still get a lot more synergy because they plan together a little bit longer.
That and even if one or two big names move, you're going to a roster that has not necessarily a stacks team full of players complimenting players that you can win. So you're still going to become quote unquote a household name because you should go into the bare minimum. Sweet 16. It really helped this year because women's, I mean, the men's games will down.
So really help propel the women even further because they had the names in the men this year. It was the boy the most names. If Zach Yves names, you're facing some troubles. I don't see the men's game changes anytime soon.
It's just not there's no pathway to do it because as you said, it's just too many options. And I think when it done, excuse me, going straight to the NBA is coming back at some point. I thought they said I think I come straight out of high school, right? I thought they would push the direction.
Oh, Ronnie, Roy. Yeah, I thought they were pushing that. But I said that to say you rank up a great point too as far as the freshmen that are coming in. That's what I was looking for is what that class of new women coming in looking like because what's media is so reactionary.
I think next year you got to get a lot of jujung coverage and they're going to put her in their cake in the cart. Man, now they're going to be looking for somebody to replace who's the income and fresh and who's the hot thing. And I really hope that there's going to be someone that can step into that. I think women's basketball is an amazing place with jujung leaner pack.
And that's why I had to take that. She's going to be as big as some of the male stars by the time that she goes professional. She's going to have a lot of time in that Caitlyn Clark spot. Like if she continues to play like she do, she wins some championships.
You talking about like endorsements and one of the bigger name in all the sports. Where does she go to the transfer for? Where's she going to transfer to? Somewhere where she can win?
I just think if she's going to take it because she ain't going to take it in the cart and it don't look the same. It's going to take for her to win. I think so too. Yeah.
She's going to win. She's going to win. She's going to win. She's going to win.
She's going to win. She's going to win. I don't know if I agree with that. Because Caitlyn's going to win.
Caitlyn Clark like different. Her game last year. No 100%. She's literally the female Steph Curry.
We've never seen nothing like that. Was Steph Curry and we ain't never seen it like that on a female side with Caitlyn Clark. She's literally that person. That's what they were talking about.
Because they kept saying that shit. I was like that's a lie. We saw Steph Curry. Why y'all keep saying?
I was like basketball wearing anything wearing. I was like what the fuck you're talking about? I was like what the fuck was that? Because Steph got fucking David since they didn't have a situation.
She ain't new. Yeah. So we've just never seen a female do it. They need to specify that.
I feel you can. We've never seen a female do it and let alone we never thought we would see the closest thing we thought we was going to see to Steph Curry was Trey Young. And we all acknowledge that that's a diminished version. But Caitlyn in my opinion is on the same level female version of Steph Curry.
Like you can't guard her. You can't guard her. She pulls up from 40. It don't matter if it's two or three chicks in her grill.
She's going to knock down the shot. Like she's built like that. That wasn't guys and stuff like that in college. Yeah you were.
Not so late Jay. No, not so late Jay. It's late. It's about the training.
I agree with you. But I deal with I became a fan of Steph at Davidson. And because when he first started out I was it was sad because he came back and was angry and we didn't get a chance to see it. But that was it.
I was without he really talking about him guessing up to your point. I don't remember a lot of comments. He went and started the game with some of them. He became he became a star and turned him out.
I think it was like Georgetown's like that's when everybody started checking for stuff. Like a fucking boxing shoe on him. And they would chase him around that year. That's when Steph became it.
Y'all today we're here. Rich Shepman, talked about how you know he tried to transfer. He wanted to go to Duke. And when he was trying to get at Coach K Coach K, was like we never fell out of our homes.
We'll need you. And basically when he had that tournament run and everybody was on him they went back and asked can you come? He was like nah. He was definitely tournament run very kind of like the Wayne way but college woman's basketball ain't about to do shit.
Why you said it? Well first of all a couple of the games and y'all told me this was supposed to be good entertaining. And I was like I don't know what the hell this shit was. Like, look, the same old shit that been on the screen.
You don't look the same. She don't, but it ain't gonna be enough. But then you got the UK game where, ah, well, that shit was awful. I'm like, what in the hell is this shit?
Second of all, you gotta understand that people love messing, people love trauma. What do we get last year? We got injuries versus Caitlyn Clark. That propelled everything.
You got storylines, you got narratives that people can follow that center around. That one thing, which is like one of America's greatest storytelling pieces in history is Black versus White. So that brought a lot of eyes to it. And Caitlyn had the stuff Curry Magic because she was out here shooting likes out and doing stuff.
So she brought a lot of attention. They were just following Caitlyn Clark. You just said nobody ever did it about South Carolina. They weren't even talking about it.
They weren't even talking about it. You know, Juju got coverage, but not like that. Juju Gaming flashed. I think you were gonna say it.
She doesn't do enough. She ain't out there throwing a bullet. Yeah, she ain't doing any of that stuff. And none of these other people, y'all name it, doing any of that shit either.
It's not enough. There's no gravity of a, there's no player with enough gravity pull people in to keep people watching. Everybody who talking about that watching this game, they watching this year. I also agree with what you're saying, right?
And I think you know, you highlighted some of the things that we said, it's only gonna be a handful of women that will even bring you to a TV screen that are quote unquote box office, right? But the thing is, Ken, is that I don't see that the men's game is gonna bring a lot of butts to the seats or eyes to the TV either though, because there's so many other options to play that year outside of high school. Now, I just don't see it happening where the men's game is gonna compete with the women's game. There was one guy, I will say this, there are a lot of investments into it.
