NCAA Proposes Sweeping Transfer and Spring Changes

The NCAA is poised to overhaul college football’s offseason with a radical new plan: a ten-day transfer portal window kicking off right after New Year’s Day—right smack in the middle of the College Football Playoff—and ditching spring football entirely for NFL-style OTAs. Set for an August vote, these changes could reshape player movement and offseason rhythms—making this one of the most consequential proposals in college football’s recent history.
