NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi, Alberta Politics, and Men’s Mental Health Awareness

The Alberta NDP have a new leader, and for us Calgarians, it's a familiar face! Former Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi will take over the reins from outgoing leader Rachel Notley. What direction will Mr. Nenshi take the party? We speak with the newly ‘minted’ leader to ask him about his plans for the party moving ahead. Next, we continue our conversation surrounding the NDP Leadership Race, which ended up being a landslide victory, with Naheed Nenshi taking 86% of the vote. We catch up with Lori Williams, Political Scientist with Mount Royal University, for her thoughts on the outcome and what we can expect from the new leader. Finally, from depression, to loneliness, to isolation, and in some cases, suicide. June is “Men’s Mental Health Awareness” month and while the mental health issues facing men today may be ‘complex’, a conversation surrounding the topic is certainly a good place to start.
