Nearly $40K raised for family of NJ woman swept away while rescuing girl in Delaware River

A GoFundMe for a South Jersey woman who gave her life to save a child has reached nearly $40,000. The family of Priscila Alvares Pereira Dos Santos, of Delran, set up the fundraiser to cover expenses related to her death. The mother of two went into the Delaware River to save another child on Aug. 24 but never resurfaced. Her body was found about 20 feet off the beach at Amico Island Park the next morning, on what would have been her 34th birthday. She leaves behind her husband, Alex, and her two children, ages 9 and 3.
