Nebraskans are already benefitting from changes to Medicare that have just taken effect

from North American Network

Several Medicare-related portions of last year’s “Inflation Reduction Act” have now taken effect. And, “A-A-R-P Nebraska’s” state-director, Todd Stubbendieck [“stew-bin-deck”], says that many of the 263-thousand Nebraskans with “Medicare Part D” are already benefiting… “Starting in January, the out-of-pocket cost for insulin has been capped to 35 dollars, a month, for anyone on Medicare; that helps the estimated 17-thousand beneficiaries in Nebraska who take this life-saving drug. Also, vaccines are now free for those with a ‘Part D’ prescription-drug plan; this includes the shingles-vaccine, which has often been very costly. Indeed, some 28-thousand Nebraskans received a ‘Part D’-vaccine in 2020; with this new benefit, that number will likely rise. Perhaps most importantly, a cap on out-of-pocket prescription-drug costs will be phased in—so that, starting in 2025, those on a ‘Part D’ plan will pay no more than two-thousand dollars, a year. That will help at least 13-thousand Nebraskans who’d otherwise have out-of-pocket costs above the cap.” To learn more, visit “a-a-r-p”-dot-org-slash-“n-e”.
