I think I got this So here's the thing we live in a faraway sector of the galaxy that is nowhere near earth, right? Yeah, very very very far away and in this sector space all the planets and the colonies and everything around these big corporations and One of the corporations is called the nebulous knights who is sort of like a neighborhood watch Cops for hire sort of mercenaries. There's a little gray area So essentially we learned that in this organization There is a higher ranking officer named bone star this unkillable skeleton with a sun for a brain And he is being asked by his supervisors to go to some interviews for potential new recruits And he doesn't think very much of that, but they're asking him to do that He's there with a couple of more professional people in an interview They're two candidates that really stand out and the first is Mirage who is from a cat like race of aliens What's the name again? We are called the veers the veers, okay?
And either like humanoid but with cat features and for and Mirage also has some secret psionic powers Not a gee let people in the interview know that because I don't think she did no She did disguise herself, but she made it seem like her ability was to morph her appearance as opposed to Flat on that she has some sign of ability. Yeah, and in the process book bone stars brain a little bit Which made bone star think that they were old friends and so he gave a glowing endorsement Which was enough to intimidate the other people in degree I guess The second candidate was a gorkin which is a space work from kind of on the outer Rangers of the galaxy and he's a food bootlegger as well as a wheel there of a sort of a crazy blade and chainsaw axe that can go through anything and Both start gave him kind of a ringing endorsement when they got into a screaming argument over who was more charitable Yeah Unless Mike wants to add a little bit more because I remember this charity off thing deal. It was really weird Yeah, I'm I'm trying to remember the charity off thing actually because a lot of it was Because morig is basically a bootlegger for his his species to get food because the galactic Senate were one of the galactic International bodies for nutrition or whatever hasn't really noticed the gorkins or recognized them as spacefaring it So it's really hard to get gorkin like food that gorkins can actually eat So he does some blockade running and ran a bulk aid that bone star was running Yep, and here's the other important part during the interview morig hacked someone's go funding for the dog In order to show off his hacking palance, and that's what prompted you Yep, right a talented computer hacker. I forgot about that part.

Yeah, it's a Yeah, he has the massive chain axe which he mostly uses well a to cut through bulkheads in the like and be to distract people from his Data visor which he uses for actual computer hacking because nobody expects a gorkin to actually be smart let alone Oh my god, I get it. Strapping buddy, we're gonna get a lot of what the hell do we mean? Yeah, yeah, there's gonna be a lot of that Speaking of strapping in with that little background I also kind of want to give a little bit background of what Jay was talking about before So he said this is a very large sector of space mainly because this is called the sector The sector is a very large expanse of space. There are some places that are remote in the corners uncivilized and then there's Other places that are kind of built up to be like denizens or like hub areas of the sector sort of like teaming with life in different types of Sort but like with any sci-fi story, you've got to figure out how the fuck do people get around well That's with FTL and more specifically something very important in our system is what we like to call resource X Resource X is how people actually are able to get around but because of everyone kind of like mining and trying to get to it There's a scarcity so even before we start out our entire sector has the aspect of scarcity of resource X so they're gonna be at times at points where you guys probably have to get around in space and I'll be Pulling that aspect and probably getting a detriment for you guys if you accept it So yes, so like Jay was saying before the nebulid nights are kind of like a conglomeration of people kind of like a little corporation of mercenaries Their HQ was actually built within the United colonies cluster of star systems. The United colonies are actually currently at war with the Confederate colonies There's no analog there.

There's a lot of things in this universe that I've kind of made and I'm not sure how much I want to Tell you guys, so I guess we'll just kind of discover that as we go on but very first off We got to figure out who our new players are going to play there is however a returning character from our test game Which would be Matthew's character Matthew? I'm gonna say everything that happened in that test game happened. Okay, but for some reason Don't say I don't remember it. No, okay You remember what happened you don't remember specifically what happened on that ship Okay, you remember being back the white star battalion another conglomeration of people that that are mercenaries and Some weird things start happening like you are to compatriots.

We'll skip ahead into Back at nebulous nights HQ You guys see sort of through some view screens people walking around people kind of milling about there seems to be a Presentation happening in a different room, but corals who gone has you kind of like tucked away into his office He's sort of sitting at his desk. He's a tall robotic type person But of course some other people in the room are also robotic because they know that a small ish creature probably about what would you say Matthew like eight to ten inches Ten inches in size. They're sort of piloting this large mech So that way they can you know see a eye level with most of the other species of the sector He's sort of like giving you guys a nose and kind of giving you like a rundown of what's going on outside They're just kind of giving a preparation about what the nebulous nights stands for it's he describes it as a very boring and mundane kind of video About saving you know cats from trees and space cats from space trees and the thing on the video every now and again The vertical sinks a little off just a little bit There's a little bit of static and whatnot he kind of taps the computer and tells someone to fix it unless he wants to fix it himself But yeah, he's sitting there kind of describing stuff as he looks up What does he see across the table when he looks at xanthrop? Is this just like a normal briefing room or is this like specific to me?
This is like the two of you are kind of like sitting in his office. He's got like bookshelves everywhere Oh, it's just him and me it's just him and the two of you both Sean and Okay, I would assume that he's trying to be more facilitating to other species So he's not in his like mansion of a space that he would normally have just for himself You see that in the upper corner of the room, but yeah, you guys are not having a personal one-on-one So it's literally like the docking station for his mech and then like a desk with like a couple of chairs in front of it And of course I would have brought my mechanism I can't really sit in a chair because of the way my knees kind of bend the other way So it might be just kind of like lowers down so that I'm at an appropriate height for like a normal humanoid style species What does this mecca look like I want to get a good visual plus If you haven't noticed one of the people on staff likes to do drawings and they like to draw stuff if I give them information They won't do free drawings, which is great. So it's it's generally gray. It looks a lot like you know that that one like robot from Robocop That's not Robocop.
It's the robot that has for your identification It looks like that that scaled down it does have two legs two arms like a standard like humanoid ish robot Again, the knees kind of bend the other way But in its chest area or its whole torso area is like a cockpit with it does have plating over it But there is like a little screen where it looks like there's like cameras that he could see through It doesn't have like a discernible head It kind of has like shoulders where the arms come out of and maybe like a little bump over the top of it Which it has sensors in it, but it doesn't look like a head so to speak And it doesn't necessarily have like five fingers and five toes it has more like three just so on each So just so it can make like grabbing type you know gestures. So the magic your Mac looks like Ed 209 I think that's the one does it move for such a trickier. Yeah, you're half eight times seconds to explore It moves it moves like in a normal humanoid way, but it also has like you can deploy wheels out of the legs as well or the feet So that it can roll around on even surfaces. Okay, that's cool It's a fairly adaptable robot But it is it is pretty much what defines the guard species because without them They're pretty helpless like yeah, yeah, eight to ten foot.
I'm sorry eight and inch Like little little species they're smart, but and that's how they kind of make up for everything but without their mechs They're pretty vulnerable. Okay, so you're saying it's kind of like it's practical not just a weapon. You're not a gun damn You're a gun dang it's for specifically for example It is it is almost like a portable laboratory slash Life support system. Mm-hmm.
So he can he can like survive in like colder temperatures hotter temperatures underwater or just oxygen deprived Atmospheres, but it is limited by its power supply Yeah, cuz if it's humanoid sized like five to six feet then that's like if you're only like Nine inches taller whatever much that's a friggin spaceship that you can just wander around in and of itself It is it is essentially like a think of it as like a the way we would push you to be a mech where he is piloting it in a cockpit The majority of the rest of it is the mechanics that help it move around but also a variety of sensors and tools that he can use full science Thanks, it actually like survive Great. I think I described quarrel Sugan in a lost episode. He did not look anything like that He actually looks more towards the humanoid. He looks more friendly.
Yeah Right, so he's sort of like going through these documents and whatnot He's actually filling out some of your guys's papers and he kind of gets to like shams papers and starts like filling it out a little bit And kind of like he knows a little bit about you as he looks up and he sort of like looks you up and down What do we see? What do we see what does sham look like? Sham is has dark bark like skin except over the face where it's where the box was peeled away and it's more wooden hair Hair sort of exists but it's vines and leaves very floral. Does like does anything actually like does it actually have like flowers Bloom from it sometimes or is it just like just straight vines is a pretty really colorful?
Yeah, it can get colorful Yes flowers can bloom, but they're generally trimmed off That's a personal maintenance kind of thing. Yes Um Yeah, generally looks like a fairly young man clad in animal hide leather leather boots things like that and Probably just sat there being back on the table does a does quarrel would he get like a What he get an attitude from? Sean or is it or is like the feet upon the table more of like a I'm relaxed in this place? Probably more relaxed.
Okay. I think he probably looks his head kind of lingers looking at you And then your kind of boots for a little bit longer and then looks back down to the papers and starts filling a few things out So the rest of the crew then the new Hires so to speak are going through the regular The regular entrances and whatnot, but I've been given special designation to pick out let's say two candidates for a Fast track program so to speak and I was thinking that I could get the two of you if you do not mind I find that both of you are both intriguing and well-rounded than most of these hooligans and he sort of gestures to a picture where you see You see a person not a person Another species kind of sitting next to what you see as a green kind of skinned person with a bunch of tattoos They sort of turn and start like making motions kind of like yelling at them for some reason And then you see them kind of like put their hands in their fists kind of like mean mugging somebody Then you just yeah exactly just kind of like handed the fist kind of like doing around and then he sort of looks at it for a little bit He shakes his head and he turns back and you notice that person actually just kind of looks blankly off in space and then turns back to the front some of these people aren't basically off the street they're sort of Usually get the regular thugs but they'll usually be kind of taken care of by the first night But you will be put into a special classification. You're not going to be with the rest of well You'll be with the rest of the group, but just not doing the same missions as them I've got it from the high commander that we're going to put you in place So that way you can take on some night's missions directly without much supervision Really yes, first of all I know I said it before but uh dr. Sugan thank you again for the opportunity I understand that there have been some issues with my previous crew And uh, thank you for looking past that and getting any of this opportunity to continue my Research as it were so thank you for that and of course I assume that I'll have all of the same privileges I've had in the past and facilities to support my Living quarters if you will in the meantime, but uh, we'll I have the opportunity to lead the screw Or is this sort of one of those they've already got a leadership paradigm set up Well, I did say something about having some supervision myself and another one of the commanders here One known as bone start will be leading the four of you You'll have two other compatriots in see these missions Most of the time we usually have a pairing of at least one commander and one of the interns or new recruits But you will only be escorted by us and you actually will be going directly out of the galaxy You won't be in this galaxy for too long.

I don't want to do this forever, but I want to uh So uh, you you see him like go over and press a button on his desk and uh, he calls for someone that comes down the hallway and opens the door And you see a sort of a large mouse like person standing in the doorway with like a bunch of armor and whatnot on And uh, they kind of squeak at you. They say this way and they lead you down a bunch of hallways The barracks to the nebulinites the nebulinites HQ is actually just a large floating space station Sort of outside one of the planets called west ishore um And he leads you down some of these corridors, but you guys find yourself all the way down at the very bottom or planet side of the ship So you guys have a pretty nice view outside out of the ship Um As you guys get there you notice some of the other people kind of walking in Uh people coming from an opposite direction you see a bunch of new people that you saw on cameras before kind of Uh being escorted to different places, but you guys get led into uh a doorway It opens up and you see a large common area sort of like there's a kitchen in the back There's a large screen and then on the left and the right there are several doors probably out 12 doors and all and there He just sort of gestures inside he goes you all have free range of uh, what what's in here now? I believe it's just the two of you no no the four of you in this room. So you're sharing an entire place together Uh, please do not try and uh do too much in the modifications.

Um, so across the hall down the hall whatever is the farthest away from morgue Yeah Get since there's a space for 12 rooms and morgue had already been told that there's gonna be at most like Five people other people sharing these rooms. He went, okay Gotcha that one and he pointed to the back left corner and just went for it and went open concept, baby Oh, he's just opened up the walls found himself some extra space. Yeah, he's Right now. He's in the process of using his chain axe to cut through the bulkhead between the uh, back left and the second most back left rooms because he's planning on having both his like bedroom and then a workshop slash uh, mechanics lab code yeah with morgue on this if there's only five people that are gonna be in this 12 person suite We each get two rooms, right?

He would create a laboratory of some sort where he'd be able to conduct experiments Okay, what about what is morgue working on? He's definitely got a double room now since uh Yeah morgue is in the process of and he's not being as delicate with tearing out stuff that he sees as superfluous as much as sharing it off at the edges and piling it in the corner for Either finding out if there's any sort of nanotech Trans uh transmogrification into component parts for like solid slabs of steel or what have you He's not worrying about that as much right now as just getting stuff cleared away So and getting the divide between walls nice and smooth So that he'll be able to start installing a machine shop components like a lathe a milling machine a cnc machine 3d printer Just getting stuff set up that if there's anything that we might need for A machine shop in between missions that he'll be able to just quickly and and effortlessly Just knock it out of the park You know Thinking on that I actually like that kind of aspect that that you guys are kind of putting to it One of you has a laboratory one of you has like a kind of thing to help you crap uh with that in mind uh shawm after a while you actually get a delivery of just this large uh just this large box of soil And they sort of like they have to like maneuver it through the doors and they like close it and put it sideways and they stick it in there And they maneuver it all the way there and then you just take like this They take out your bed because they like they take out your bed and then they look at you for a second It's like a bunch of those like a mouse people in those uh like armored suits and they sort of look at you They're like do you need the do you need the bed or is the soil okay? Yeah, take a bath just get rid of it Okay, and they sort of like haul up the bed and then they put the soil in place of your bed Uh, they also give you a codey Just so you're just so you're aware is anthraub is already making a list of things he can do to improve the space for eat to to meet each specific character's needs Okay And we'll get to those when they become relevant okay So so what it'd be safe to assume that santraub and morgue have kind of had a bit of a meeting going like why are you?
Oh, I see what you're doing in here and Is more yet don't don't assume things Okay, uh, so let's go back to it's all done So they put this they go back to rob it real quick They put the soil in the room sham and uh, they actually have a lot of other materials out for the other people kind of like building their own things Kind of in the main common room. They made this large area full of like any supplies that you want There's actually small little robots that are actually taking things and building with them Is there anything that you want to do with your soil or there's like also just a on the wall There's like a display screen with like a list of components that you would need Is there anything that you would want to do your room or Uh, no, it would just basically be take like the top layer of soil and spread it over the room generally Okay, and start filling with climate controls to make it as humid as possible in here As you're sort of like spreading out the soil you notice that most of it's kind of like like clean It's got like nutrients and whatnot into it Uh, but something seems off Um, mainly because as you're spreading the soil around you actually notice a smallish seed probably about I don't know probably about four millimeters like big And uh, you get like this, uh, weird kind of Message from it not like a not like a like a message itself But more like emotions of like of like helplessness into it and it seems like this little seed is Like it wasn't supposed to be in the soil and it just kind of starts calling out to you What do you want to do with it? I'm going to plant it just find a pot a bucket something put a bunch of my soil in there and plant seed and start taking care of that It seems fairly grateful once you've like start tending to and kind of putting in a pot Is going to be in the common areas are going to be in your room Uh, probably my room to start with at least As you're sort of doing this, uh, you notice you hear hacking again from the nearby rooms in probably a room down the hall from you I've kind of got like a mental setup where you guys are at, but then we go to uh, across the way to Mirage's room. Mirage.
What are you doing to your room? So the first thing Mirage does because of uh her past and her instincts being on the run and trying to conceal um, she's already logged into every um She's already logged into every interface in the room to uh to figure out how it works and see if there's a way that she can To see if she can block any um like programs that are that are monitoring her, uh, because although she's somewhat, uh, turned away from her past Um, because she you know kind of had to uh, she's still Opening up avenues that if she wants to get back into the black market game or the black market game She can and have this as a base of operations. Uh, so she's trying to cover her tracks or or anything just to make sure Okay, as you're sort of going through like the systems, uh, It seems like you're having some issues Going through the systems of this The session is gonna be real heavy as you're going through the systems You're getting some like uh complications here and there but you seem to get a general like blackout area of just your room Um, there's still the door itself, which is supposed to notify Uh kind of like notify other people about not what's going on in the room, but who owns the room? Uh, and it's just like a general system where you can like order things up to your room and stuff like that Uh, do you want to shut that system off as well?
Yes, I I kind of want to make this a blackout room so to speak Uh, so I guess I don't really want to shut it down, but I want it to where it will give false readings Um, so that it so so that if I have people in that I don't want, um The nebulinites to know about uh, it won't register them. Uh, so so basically just trying to cover my tracks Okay, yeah, you could definitely shut down the systems that are directly uh monitoring your room You notice that the door system that you have here is not monitoring it But there are definitely things attached to it that are monitoring it and you shut that you kind of like sever those connections from it And you you kind of get the feeling that most of it's kind of shut down, but what about like the rest of the room that you have? Yeah, so um, so um mirage mirage would probably keep things pretty scarce, um Just because of the the life that she had led, uh, because although The office that she kept when she was the mob boss well The the time that one of her her personalities was the mob boss like that was very opulent But that was more the minotaur style. Um mirage herself is more scaled back.
Um, uh, she keeps everything So so everything has its place. Um, so like the twin pistol she has they're there in a set place They're there they're on the bed beneath billows one underneath each pillow The long duster she has is hanging up in a specific place and it's she made sure that it's it's not wrinkled It's it's set up But every but as far as like what the room itself looks like she Doesn't necessarily plan on staying around too long. Uh, this is sort of a a pit stop as she plots her revenge and gets back to her Previous life so she she doesn't she's not making too many attachments right now. Okay, so just trying to keep it sparse Okay, so as you guys are like going through your rooms respectively and whatnot kind of building things and making it kind of your own or Not your own in some of the people's cases.
