Nebulous Nights #7

from S.H.U.

While plans were discussed, the knights decided to work together in the next race, throwing out the deal between BONESTAR and Quarl. They would see these next challenges as a united front, rather than two teams against one another. As they enter the next portion however, they must be wondering, why all this? Why the trials? What the secrecy? And what does a non euclidean race even look like? They stand at the precipice of something. Just hope they are ready for it. Nebulous Nights is a FATE based real play podcast. We first opened up, seeing a large doorway. It's that sort of doorway that you've seen in space. It sort of has two interlocking sections. You see several bolts kind of clinging together, and you hear a mechanism start to hiss.

You see smoke coming out of the mechanics and the inside of the doorway. And slowly the two interlocking sections come apart. There's a hissing noise, but it seems that it's echoing throughout a large chamber. And as it opens up, we see into the next room.

And we see through the mist beginning to clear, our four knights. First we see the Texavon of the Savage Lands, a gorkin, a person, someone of their species who goes beyond the limits of what they thought. Next we see the telepathic mob boss hiding behind a facade, a species feared throughout the sector, and rightfully so. We also see a person in a mech, a student of the sector itself, who wants to learn as much as possible, but also wants to go beyond what other species want to discover.

And finally, we have a protector of kin, but it's unfortunate that maybe all of their kin could be gone. As it opens, lights, just an abundant amount of lights, spill out and as all of you. Because what you see beyond this doorway is not what was described to you before, because it makes sense to one of you. It makes much more sense.

Greetings Space Cadets, two, episode seven of Nebula's Knights. I am your gay male for this episode, for this game, this space game in space with these space people. Speaking of these space people, we have with us as always, we have Jay. My name's Jay, you can find me on Amberville Heroes, where I play Doctor Dudad and Sportsman.

We also have some of these other people here today, such as Eli. Hi everybody, I'm Eli. I'm confused about what's going on, but I am excited to play. We also have with us Matthew, much like that room I too make many sense.

I feel like I said something wrong. We also have Mike. Hi, I'm Mike and I'm Canadian. I play work.

Mike, can you answer a question for me? Do you even start calling them Tunes? Can we call them Wunis? That was actually loaded as legitimately floated as an option when they first came out and they decided for whatever reason to go with two Loonies trying to get a Tuneek rather than Wunis.

I guess I guess you're going to be with pirates now? Is that what's going on? I don't know. We also have with us.

Cody, did you not know about Canada's proud piracy? Can I introduce Rob? Let me introduce Rob. We also have with us Rob.

Sorry, Robert. I'm just having too much fun listening to you talk anyway. I guess so. I think you should start introducing Robert first because there's always something that happens right before you introduce him that takes forever.

Oh, no, no, you're right. I should probably. I should probably I should probably introduce him first. This makes more sense.

No, I think it should just be an ongoing goof. Can you ever introduce Rob? That's Canada. See, and now it just because I usually just cut those and put it somewhere else and then it just sounds natural in the end also Rob.

But now I have to leave it in because we've been talking about it for the past minute. I think you should figure out how far he passes away from you and start from furthest and work your way geographically closer to you. I mean, okay. I see what you're getting at.

Okay, I will do that. Oh goodness. All right. So can anyone tell me what happened last time on Nebula Snipes because I edited it, but like, oh, I don't know what the fuck.

But man, I'll read the notes if you want me to. Yeah, just read the notes. Yeah, but not the great notes. All right, notes.

Mariah. Okay. Mariah has a little freak out over some bugs. Sean is woken up by plant frond.

Sean plants a new seed out in a park. Morgan's anthrop eat grace lime. Bownstar chats at Mariah's about why bounty hunters are after her. Mariah goes to Holladec or something in library.

Mar to net somebody has escaped. Morg Juniper. Don't get high off of hallucinogenic. We plot, I guess, on what to do about quarrels to gone.

We kind of agree to work as a single team rather than divided. Bownstar goes to talk to quarrel and pay up for the lost bet and to tell him the gang is ready to turn on him. Coral is becoming all tentacle. The end.

That's not about it. Plot is very much in quotation marks. We taught, but I don't think we actually plotted anything. I yeah.

I don't know. But also like tripping balls and drilling right now. So there's not really much full. Coral team anyway.

Well, if I remember correctly, Bownstar told you instead of a rebellion, you should probably just rob the night's blind. Yep. Yeah. And Morg went basically went whoa, whoa, whoa.

I don't want to screw my people over. Like, I'm okay with some jovial mischievous trolling every now and again, but I don't want I I don't want to fuck up everything for every other gorgon. I mean, come on. You don't work.

And no, no, no, no, no. I should probably make up some sayings based on species. But that also sounds specious. Let it build organic do free rain.

Doof. Yes, let's do this. Um, so it seemed like no one actually had a plan other than the kick me sign, which did work. It just didn't hurt coral because he's got titanium ass.

Um, and since there was no plan, I believe that we were going to open up in the same situation that I've come up with before. The four of you are standing before a doorway, which is just opened. Coral has told you that beyond the door is the next room in which you are supposed to race to the end. And as you look into the next room, something seems off about it.

The door opens up and it is not the non-uclidean space that you thought of was going to be on the other side. It wasn't the same as the space that you thought that you found in his notes. Because while you were being a hacker with a heart of gold, you did not look at his personal notes and his personal diaries because if you would have, you'd have understood that in order. Hmm, let's not go that far.

On the other side of this is probably something no one really can make sense of because it looks like a vast space in the middle of this spaceship. It goes on forever. You can see off into the far distance. There are shapes, there's spheres of various colors.

I believe someone described it as sort of the astral plane or spiral galaxy in the spirit of Jack Kirby on another portion of the room or that can see into the space. There is a large view screen and on the other side of it, there are two people. Bones are you are looking onto sort of on the other side of this window where you see a very familiar place. It is a place that you've spent a lot of time in and a place that mortals or people of this dimension can't really comprehend too much and quarrels in his mech and he turns to you.

I've recreated it. All of it. Why bother? Because some things, some things about to happen and we need to make sure that our knights can handle going into this space.

Carlos, please fucking sucks. There's nothing good in here. There's nothing worth saving. It's a howl.

Why would you want me to go here? It's not you who I want to go here. I want to make sure that they can survive going through it. Why are we doing missions in a spiral galaxy?

Because we have to get something done there and I didn't risk my life trying to recreate this environment just for us to fail once we stepped inside where we needed to go. Okay. Look, there's a reason why I got out of this place. But if you want to hang out in that world, have fun.

I'd like everyone to roll a will plus two one plus one. Sorry about starting out. You have to go three plus four. Okay.

Guys, I'm going to I've got some things here, but but I would like to very first start off with Sean because Sean, soon as you look into this, like, why expense that should be, you know, no bigger than a 20 by 20 room. It just goes on forever. And your mind just slowly starts to kind of wonder your memories sort of like flashback throughout the rest of your life. Yeah.

Tell me when the sham thought that his life was going to end. Tell me of another time in which you think Sean thought he was going to die, but didn't. Oh, okay. That would probably be back when his planet was attacked by the.

Um, uh, here's right. Uh, he was with his clan. Just it was just a normal day for them. Then the ships started coming down to collect the resources and they weren't going to take no for an answer.

He's here and all the defenders of his clan stood and fought to protect everyone, to keep them safe, to get get them somewhere else. And as he was there, you just saw everyone falling beside him and just ended up getting overrun left dead. As you remember this past sort of as everyone's falling around you, you notice that there is someone else that doesn't belong in your memories, that doesn't belong here. It's a tall figure in a full black bodysuit and they have red hair, but it looks more like not tentacles or tendrils.

It more looks like dreadlocks, but slimy and she has a very toned figure. And she walks over you kind of through the jungle as it's sort of being destroyed. You see the veers attacking sort of striking down a lot of your comrades. You feel yourself sort of disassociate and you see yourself run off as she walks towards you and she looks down at you and she looks around very nonchalantly.

Is this really is this really so intense for you? None of them mattered. And she looks down at all of your fallen friends. Do you really think that any of them?

Would have done the same for you and tried to protect you. They all died protecting everyone. It wasn't just about me. The proof is there.

They are dead. They would do it. They did do it. And the proof is there that they are weak because they failed.

Weakness is a concept that is only there to be surpassed. She smiles very toothily. You kind of see the striking features on her face, Titan. She says good.

I'd like to see you try. Zenthrop. As you kind of look into this spiral galaxy, this astral plane, this far abyss should only be a 20 by 20 room, but it's not. It's more than that.

You are inspired. You sort of feel your brain moving it thousands millions times a minute sort of going through processes and you remember back until your greatest invention. When did you discover it and how did it feel? Well, the studies of the Gar are pretty thorough before they're a graduate from their science academy.

So as part of a sort of a graduate thesis, he was working day in day out to create new sensory systems for the the mechs. And when he put his mind to it, he was able to tune them to be able to pick up a new frequency of light that they hadn't been able to see before something more or higher frequency than cosmic energy. And it was awe inspiring both in being able to record that, but then also now looking back at the galaxy, it's like the idea of seeing into the eyes of God proof that there is a higher life out there somewhere. And whenever it started to record, there was one anomaly that you found and most of the guard couldn't figure out what it was.

You thought it was a mechanical error of some sort, but you remember back and you remember the anomaly of what it looked like. It's just sort of like a odd to describe trying to process the light. But as you remember it, your memory starts to change a little bit. What does it say?

Because it's in a language that you now understand. What does the galaxy say? Yes. What does this little anomaly say to you?

There's more. You look out into these just strange shapes beyond this doorway and the galaxy says one more things to you. There's more than me. Morgue.

Again, everyone sees this insane thing in front of them. It's ridiculous how it is. It shouldn't be. It shouldn't be the space.

Nothing in this space should be. You can see a planet toy far in the distance, but it's not a planet toy. It's just a green mass. And then as you look upon it, you see things moving, but then you also see your home planet and you see it growing small and dim.

What did it feel like when Morgue first left his planet? First, as an aside at Morgue would be thinking to himself as the entire scene is resolving. Oh, man, the stuff, Santa Rob gave me is finally kicking in. Yes.

Morgue sees the green dot of his home world drifting off in the distance. And he has this weird knot of anticipation in a stomach of he doesn't know when he's going to be able to see it again. And he's surprised at how okay with that he is because that planet was filled with small minded assholes is what he starts to tell himself, but then he thinks. I'm going to miss it.

I'm going off into the galaxy to try to do what I can work a few dirt jobs, get some cred, try to do what I can to help out people back home. To try to get terraformers back over there so things can actually grow well again and stuff. But he's also he's also worried that he's just going to fall into the dumb, dumb, bruiser stereotype that a lot of work is having the world. So it's kind of a combination of worry that he won't be able nostalgia for the world that he's leaving behind, but also anticipation for the world that he's going to be able to see to try to help out.

Does that make any sense at all? It does. The sort of start of a journey can be odd for most people because you already have the back of your mind where you started off and where you're going to go. But it's always nebulous.

What did it feel like the first time that more started interacting with the sectors interconnected highway? The... It felt a bit like it was refreshing because it was something altogether new and it was exciting because he could see for whatever reason. He just took to it and he could poke away at the seams that other people couldn't necessarily think to look for.

And so it became almost a game to him of going in and seeing, oh, this place, let's see what kind of security systems they have on their internet and just seeing how far he could get into systems and not necessarily steal any data, but just kind of poke around and see like, oh, wow, this place has really weak security. Huh, as one of these times where you're poking away at securities and whatnot, it's a small, I like a small business on a back world planet. You just needed to make sure that they weren't doing anything to ferries behind the scenes after you just did a dop for them. They seemed a little suspicious, but you remember you were poking away at them just ever so slightly until you noticed a security system that didn't seem appropriate for this backwater planet.

But you also have this weird feeling that you don't remember it, that these aren't your memories, but these are new memories. And as you prod the security, you can feel it wrap around your arm and even what you think in your real body, but as you reflect upon your memories, you can feel your own arm, that there's something growing and growing and constricting your arm. And you remember being pulled in onto a gigantic brain and slowly sinking in as it drove you in. Eli, mirage looks out at all of this.

And for a moment, you start regressing into your memories again, but you stop at a certain point in time where you look into quarrels deepest fear. And you see that woman in this abyss, in this weird space where there are shapes and colors and it doesn't mean anything to you. It makes sense until you see her and your madness becomes clarity. And you know what this space is, that this is her home and this is where she rules, but this place is also home to many other things.

You also realize that this is just a simulacrum of what that space is. And for a moment, you also get a feeling in the back of your mind that this is also a race to the end, to the end of something, to the end of this. Because you have to say anything, you look to your companions and they have yet to say anything, you see some of them twitching. Zantrop is not moving, obviously, because he's in his match.

What do you do? Do I understand now what the purpose of this space is, specifically in this instance? No, you would have to take that up with quarrel. Well, so there have been multiple times where I've read his mind.

And if my madness has become clarity, can I roll something to try and put the pieces together and figure out what's supposed to go on? What the end goal is? I will say that your clarity is that you know what this space is and how to basically move around in this space. And you also know that there's supposed to be an end to it.

There's always been mention that this was a race to the end. This is a foot race. This is a thing in which you get from point A to point B. And he said that about a space which seems to have no end, but you kind of get the feeling that you know the way.

I'm going to link everyone's minds and shout into their mind to snap out of whatever it is and give that information to them. All right. Roll me an empathy. That's a plus five.

You link everyone's minds together, but as soon as you do, you get a flood of what's going through their heads. And you only find one safe place in your own mind. Can we talk about a different time in which you've linked people's minds together? Yeah.

It was common practice when Mirage was in the Virgin military. The best way to sneak up on your enemy is if no one has to speak. And so Mirage was that radio piece. And she and her pack had gone on thousands of missions, which which moment in particular is Mirage go back to?

I would say that probably the most recent time. Her pack was on a mission. To some backwater planet, she didn't ask too many questions. She and her pack were the weapon to be used by the Viers Empire.

We went where we were told. We did what we were told. We cleaned up whatever mess and we came back home. But this particular mission, Mirage had just linked everybody.

And her pack had seven people in it. And the information we were given by the commanding officer was wrong. What was supposed to be a stealth mission into an area that was not guarded was heavily fortified. And Mirage was the only one to make it out.

So not only does she, so not only has that stuck with her as survivors guilt, but she felt death. She felt six deaths in that moment. Mirage knows it on the other side because she felt it. And she walked away from the Viers Empire.

As your brains are connected, your mental paths are connected, you feel these things from your compatriots. You understand what it feels like to be alone and to see everyone else around you die. To create something magnificent and see it talk to you. To be at the start of a brand new adventure, a journey, but always remember where you came from.

And also the feeling of death and how impactful it can be to change a person's life. You all returned your senses and everyone take a level six consequence of madness. As all of you see the woman on this planet as she walks across it. Shum, you recognize her from your trip back in your memory.

But that's a memory and this is now in front of you. How do you guys travel across the astral plane? I keep saying astral plane. Is this a spiral galaxy?

You need an official rule. Let's fucking get this shit. Okay, so astral plane would be a space between realities. Whereas a spiral galaxy would be a sector of space where physics aren't working properly.

So a spiral galaxy you can imagine like a weather phenomenon, whereas an astral plane would be a place that you could run in and out of a different plane of existence. I like spiral galaxy. Yeah, because it's kind of like a physical place. It's supposed to an astral plane which connects all of us and is a metaphysical realm.

Yeah. So, mirage knows how to get through it. And because I've not been told any differently, I want to say that the way you get through it is you focus on where you want to go in the galaxy. And the spiral galaxy moves around you.

So it's more of a force of will kind of thing like focusing on the one point that you need to go. So it's time to make the world move around you. As I say, Futurama, isn't it? So mirage focuses still links to her compatriots.

But unfortunately, as you think of the end, the first place you stop is the memory of Sean. And the four of you can can I spend a fake point to not have that happen? Invoking single minded? Damn.

Collaborative storytelling is. No, this is the galaxy brain end of the meme. Cody, come on. I mean, I don't have to.

No, I love it. I love it. Okay. So this is what happens.

You spend the fake point, but you're single minded determination. You see you all stop on Sean's old planet and Sean, you look around and it looks beautiful. Just the lush jungles, the vines everywhere. You can kind of see the lakes sort of patchworked.

You see all of your old kin wandering around. What does it look like? What does it look like? I didn't speak.

Oh, trees. Like as tall as sky, scrypos, just lush with flowers and fruit. And everyone's living with them. So you have they literally open up to form houses and dwellings like that.

The lakes are sparkling, just so crystal clear. You can see the fish swimming through. And just as you all catch a glimpse, it disappears. And then you all are standing in a laboratory.

What laboratory is it? It's in throughout. It's about my size. It's about your size?

It's about my size. You're all sort of shrunk down to the size of a guard. No. It's your mind space.

It is how your mind perceives you to be. So it is also how their mind perceives you all to be. Is it like spotless? Is it clean?

Is it like your personal workspace? Is this a shared workspace? It's a shared workspace. Like I mentioned, it's kind of part of university studies.

So it's pretty large. And it's almost set up with a series of workstations and cabinets or tool cabinets. It is certainly lived in, but it gets cleaned probably every day. But as you get closer to the finals, students are there later and later trying to finish their projects.

So, Xanthrop's in there, maybe a couple other students. But it's sparsely populated. It's late in the day. And there's a series of tools strewn about as Xanthrop focuses on his particular workstation.

And it looks weird because you're his size and you're not used to seeing them. It's so big. And take a minor consequence of how many I shrunk the kids. Very tempted to have everyone take that.

Have we actually seen what Xanthrop looks like before now? You might not have, only because you haven't been in his room. Has anyone been in this room? Yeah.

Juniper's been there, Morix's been in there. I thought that was in the common room. Look at that. That's when I gave him hallucinogenics.

Oh. Yeah. I think maybe I need to be more specific about rooms and locations that we're in. But we'll deal with that.

It is probably the first time that people have seen Xanthrop though. Or at least be able to see him in full detail, so to speak. Like realizing, oh, wow, he can get stubble. That stuff really did kick in.

But as you see all the go around, Xanthrop working and whatnot, you all sort of looked to Xanthrop seeing him on the same, you know, height as you guys are. It shifts again. You all see in the distance the ball, the planetoid that is Morix's home room. And you see Morix in a spaceship looking out the window at it.

How old is Morix at this point? Oh, he'd be in his equivalent, like Galaxy standard equivalent of his 20s. Early 20s. You all see Morix standing there looking out the window.

But then you're all just shifted again. And there's a quick flash of not really anything in particular, but back to a memory that just gives you the notion of reaching for something, of reaching further to something more. And then you go right back to the spiral galaxy, this similar of it. Yeah.

Yeah. Against the K realized that's not what you'd like, I'd like you to make a will. Well, well, yeah. Negative two.

Oh, no. Yes. Zero will. Mozart as you're sitting here looking out into this spiral galaxy that coral has created you get a strange odd feeling.

This sort of I can't say pit of your stomach because you don't technically have a stomach, but it feels that way. My fucking belly hurts. Quarrel begins to laugh, but his mask is now undone, so it sounds like a deep medicine one. It echoes the pitch shifts time and time again.

You got a weird gas in there or something? Bonestar, as you say that, you begin to shift as well. And you are with your four compatriots. Oh, no, no, why?

What the hell is going on? What? I was watching you, assholes, I don't want to be in here. The five of you were floating in the middle of space.

It sucks. And as you're all looking around, Bonestar, you see somebody and somebody you probably don't really like. You see your sister. You get the hell out of here, you dumb asshole.

Jay, I would like you to describe her first. Sure thing. She is also a skeleton with a son in the head, although she is done up an extremely tight bondage gear from head to toe. And she has a very long whip that's made of plasma energy.

Does she have a cow skull also or a humanoid skull? A humanoid skull that's wrapped in very shiny leather. Think like a pinhead. Like kind of a little bit of a BDSM thing.

But also she's a skeleton. So she's four inches wide. She's 100% bone. On a scale of one to go strider.

Oh, no strider can fill out a pair of jeans. Let me tell you, Eli. He's got them white headphones. He's got them white headphones.

No, no, she's this is intentionally like if you put kind of like wrapped a platter or a trash bag around a skeleton and heated it up a lot. You can see individual bones and shit underneath all the hot topic buckles. Hot. I think Mirage might have just found her new fetish.

So you see her floating above you. And she looks down at you, bone star. And she unfurls her two plasma whips. Why are you going to hit me?

Why are we doing this? You know you can't hurt me. You're just going to try to merge gas with me and it's weird. Ha ha ha ha ha.

Bone star, you're just like family to me. We are family, but you're a dick and I want to hang out with you. And this place sucks too. And all these people are stuck here.

They're not sons. They can't get out. What the hell am I going to do? I hate being responsible.

Well, Bone Star, I think you might be have to be a little bit more responsible. Because Father and I would like you to come back to the family. Can I blast her in the head? OK.

Roll a shoot. All right. That. Oh my god.

A good roll. What the fuck? I don't even know what to do with it. That is a six.

What do you do? Describe how you shoot her. A big old ray of light, just a big fat white laser shoots out of his head right in her direction. And it looks like he's intentionally trying to start a flight.

You blast her on the side and you see part of the plastic leather. Sort of it pings off of it. It's just sort of like blast it, heats it up. You see it to turn white hot for a second.

But as she's turning with one shoulder, she's lashing out with the other whip. But she only gets a five. OK. Roll me a defense.

Hey, four. So not bad. You find one of your arms kind of wrapped around with this whip. OK.

And she starts dragging you towards her. OK. What are the rest of you do? Mark's going to charge in and try to help out bone star.

I mean, I have no idea who this weird BDS puts these as in BDSM for skeleton. There he is. But I'm going to ask her a question. I kind of presume we were all out of our little trances.

You're all still floating. It's like floating in the middle of space. You have a red of our trances, right? We're like, yeah, you're out of your trances.

Yeah. Here's a question. What do I have my axe with me? And if I don't, would I be able to roll well to manifest my axe because spiral galaxy shenanigans?

Did you have your axe at the beginning of the footrace? If I'd be allowed to use it in the footrace? Yeah. OK.

Then I would assume that you have it. I roll attack. And I roll like garbage. So that's a plus three.

She, as you sort of fly through empty space towards her, you lash out with your axe. The rest of you see more to just start flying forwards as if there is nothing behind him propelling him. And he tries to strike out. And she deflects it with one just movement of her hand.

And as soon as it makes contact, the rest of you, I'm not going to do that yet. What do the rest of you do? Cody, since I have spent some time hanging around Bonesstar and have taken every opportunity to try and study his kind, can I roll? Can I burn a fake point with my super intelligence to see if I can understand what potential weaknesses would be to their kind.

With both of them in front of you right now, I will say yes, especially in this habitat. OK. So I will burn a fake point on my super intelligence to get my will bonus on that. And that is a six plus six.

OK. Jay, what would be a weakness that you think that the 4G and would have? The 4G and have are incredibly impressionable and suggestible and are very vulnerable to any sort of attack on their will or sanity or any sort of psychic attack. So like, for instance, drugs are a big way to mess up a 4G and because they instantly atomize them and then get messed up.

Hmm. I will take the US. I want you to add a permanent aspect to your character, knowledge of 4G and weakness, unstable molecular composition. I will find a place to put that.

And then I would, friends, go for the mind. Shana, what are you up to? Um, well, with that, I don't think I could get an effective attack. So I'd like to use my body more to give an advantage.

So more of my arm into like a tower shield or something like that to try and help. Well, that's probably the way to do that. That's the super dope. And that is a plus three.

OK. You give everyone a plus one one time use aspect of tower shield. What's a good like pun off tower shield and vines? Vine shield?

Yeah, that's fine. Vine shield. Yeah. And jump.

You feel behind you like this sort of weight behind you as you see around your allies, sort of these vines and like trees start to grow up from beneath you. Sort of, you guys were floating in space and beneath you just these, this canopy of trees starts rising up and you see vines start like forming right behind all of your allies as if they are ready to contract. Alright, what do you do? A Bramble Bastion.

That's good. That's very good. You just earned an English degree. If only I could just randomly get those out.

No, I've been knighted. It's cool. I can do it. OK.

What does Maraju do? Maraju is going to assault her mind with an imaginary Minotaur that will hopefully hurt her. So basically Maraju's eyes go white and everyone sees this like shadow Minotaur beast come out and charge towards Bones to our sister. Making me a will rope.

OK. That's a five. And I'm going to say for prosperity sake, you also get a plus two because you're using your mind against her and she has a weakness against that. You see the Minotaur go outwards and sort of goes right next to you more and kind of what does the Minotaur do?

Does it have an axe? What does it look like when you manifest it? So the Minotaur when it manifests. It has these two huge horns that look far too big to be something that could physically be on this.

And it has these extensions on its hands that are giant blades. And so it runs up to her and seemingly stabs into her with those blades, but they're not real. She seems to react to this Minotaur coming towards her, but more as she sort of bats you away, you can kind of feel in space how this Minotaur next to you almost has a presence about it. She's going to turn to the both you and the Minotaur and as she still has bones are grappled with the other plasma whip, she sort of strikes it against both of you, almost like flanking it out like a sword and slashing you both across the chest.

She only gets a five. Only what do I need to do to defend Cody since this is a projection of you can defend with your will. And I defend with fight? Yes.

OK. You also both get a well more gets a plus one for Ramble Bullwork. OK. Oh, nice.

Do I have to use Ramble Bullwork now? You can if you want to. OK, because I rolled a six without using feeble work. I got a three.

All right. You kind of feel your Minotaur give way and you take mental stress instead of physical. OK. Don't start.

You see your sister lash out against Morg and this weird Minotaur that has appeared out of nowhere, which seems really weird. Well, I'm going to try to use my stunt possession and cash in a fake point to attach my son to one of her whips and have it start orbiting me. OK. You see as she sort of slashing against the other ones, you find an opportunity to grab the whip that is attached to you and make it your own.

Nice. And so I'm going to go ahead and try to disarm her other hand with that. OK. Go ahead and roll me a fight seems appropriate here.

That would be a two, unfortunately. She unfortunately for you gets a five as she notices and pulls back against you. She's not disarmed, but you still have possession of her whip. OK, nice.

I'm going to look at her and be like, you don't you just fucking leave if you want. You know, you're not special because you have horny clothes. We're all horny. Especially the Minotaur.

Yeah. Big horn. Two big horns. As you understand, she is going irate.

And her body seems to expand a little bit more beyond the latex. You can almost see the skeleton and expands and expands. You see your frame of reference shift until the four of you are back standing in front of the doorway waiting for it to open. Wait, the four of us?

The four of you. Who is not here? The Bone Star. OK.

You hear a intercom open up and you hear a voice that none of you have heard before? It'll be all for today. You all have done very well. well.

Everyone, if you would please leave out of the rear corridor behind you and leave this part of the station. Wait, where's bone star? Also, who are you? Yeah, do we don't recognize the voice at all?

It's not the boss lady that came to give us IDs or whatever. Nope, you don't recognize the voice at all. You hear the crackling and the intercom come out again. I am the high commander and I commend you for passing Quarles' last trial.

Yes, and where is Mr. Professor Dr. Sugan Esquire? And once again, where is bone star?

Bone stars with me. Bone star would you like to give reassurances to your team? I'm on the radio. Yes, that is true.

Bone star you are technically. This is my radio voice. Yeah, I love the radio. You shouldn't talk on the radio.

These guys, you know, they put in a good performance. They at least deserve a radio. Cody, can I roll will to see if this is real? Yeah, I'm trying to think of if we need to do that also because I activate my scanners.

Sure, but I'm going to try to scoot myself forward with my mind like I did before, because that seems like it would be a good baseline. Like, well, if I can't scoot scoot around with just brain power, I'll have to use my dumb meat legs again. And if that's well-based, that's a four. Okay, cool.

Does anyone else want to do anything at this moment as they hear this voice? I want to use my scanners. I want to search for life signs in particular. All right.

Do you want me a favor? What do you roll for your scanners? Is that another rule? I was going to tie it to my super senses where I would be using site for scanners to identify whatever I'm looking for.

So it would be a notice. Notice, I like to build it. Notice is more appropriate. Oh, Sean, what are you doing?

I'm going to say plus six. Okay. And I'm not sure if Sean has anything to accept, like, see that no one else is just going along with it and do the sign. You roll me an empathy.

Okay. All right. So Matthew, you got a six. Michael, you got a four.

Yeah, what did you get? Well, you were about to say something before I rolled. And so I wanted to know what? Oh, sorry.

I invoke your aspect. Telepathy is no cure for paranoia and give you a negative two to your next role. You also get a big point, though. Okay.

And then I got a one. Okay. You feel like you're still within a space in which none of this seems real. Morg feels like he can concentrate and move himself forward.

And nothing really happens. It just sort of you make this sort of thinking face for a bit. Nothing really happens. Sensors sweep.

And everyone in the room seems okay. You sort of get like a viewpoint of their vital signs. You notice that on the other side of the door in front of you, though, there's sort of a odd. There's sort of like an odd reading there.

I was particularly interested in what was through where we thought we were just coming from. Yeah. You look in front of you to the door that opened up before and beyond was the spiral galaxy space. But the readings from that direction, they don't.

They say as if it was just another empty room beyond the store. But there's another anomaly. Yeah. It's animal trying to isolate that file and or that data and save it for when you can further analyze it, pack this lab.

Sean, what did you get for your empathy role plus seven? Oh, nice. Nice job. You feel underneath you.

That same feeling of that canopy. That's sort of warm protective feeling. And it's coming from all around this metal. Oh, it seems off to you because you're not used to it.

It feels like everywhere around you is home, like right below the surface is something that is waiting to protect you. And you hear a small voice say, welcome home. You've been gone. No, I don't think Sean would actually react except maybe we have a comfortable smile in reaction.

Okay. So it looks like Morgan's pooping sensor sweep. It's a shot. It's smiling and mirage seat stills the looking around various, especially what do you do after all this information is gathered.

Our minds are still linked, right? So no, no, there's no longer a connection there. You reach out to everyone else, maybe thinking that this is still part of the spiral galaxy and you notice that there's nothing there anymore. There's nothing there.

There's no longer a connection there. You still remember everything that happened up into this point. You still remember all of their memories that they were going through and experiencing, but there's no longer a connection there. It's hard for you to reach out now and touch other people's minds.

Everyone get rid of the six level consequence of madness. Eli, you can replace yours with mentally exhausted. So what are the four of you doing? Morg's going to turn to everyone else and go, I think this is real space.

I think it's hard to tell though. It kind of reaches out to mirage as if it starts to poke her thinks better of it because he likes that finger and goes over and kind of pokes Santa Rops Maccabay and Sean's shoulder a bit like you guys seem real. The door on the other end opens up the not the doorway into the spiral galaxy, but the door at the other end. It sort of decompresses a little bit and opens up slightly and you see a rat face, sort of like a little mousey face, period, and then like look around and then it turns around.

I don't think they're coming out. I don't think it was. Oh, wait, I have an idea. And you see at the end of the where the door is, a little mouse behind reaches out and puts a little piece of cheese right in front of the door.

And then the door slowly closes. Or goes, well, hell if Darwin's was a Darwin that put down the cheese or or a different one that I don't recognize. Oh, none of you have seen that person yet. No, it's no one you recognize.

Darwin usually was in a large mech suit. Just assume that all of them look the same. Like how dare you? Well, I was thinking it was a clear time like where the hell is Darwin anyway?

Like they're the one that got out of everything unscathed. Zantrop as the door opened a little bit, your sensors definitely picked up. Then on the other side of this door, there is a massive amount of life forms. Multiple.

Multiple life forms. Yes. Massive as numerous life forms. Okay.

So I think morig would probably people can do what they want, but morig would probably go like shift five second roll and dash over and eat the cheese. Smart as to his race. Damn, this is some good ass cheese. He hollers down the hallway.

Why do you guys tell me those cheese was so damn good? How do you open the door and you haul her into the hallway? Yeah. It's me to that blue milk.

As soon as the doorway opens and you look out into the hallway, there is just a crowd of people there and they all be in bursting into tears and claps. And you hear a noise makers go off and a thing drop down in front of you, like a little poster on the opposite wall. It says, welcome to the nebulous nights, you fuckers. And confetti goes off into the other room.

You all can kind of like hear this, but you can barely see it through this small doorway, but more can kind of get a full view of it. And you just see all of the random people that you've seen throughout the nebula night HQ. Or opens up the door the rest of the way and goes, whoa, let's go find my laser beams. Several other people say woo, too.

There's a small laser light show. There are no survivors. Oh, wait, that's right. I know lasers in this room.

So you guys go into this place and there's essentially a part small party in this hallway. There are people around a lot of people go up to you and sort of like, you know, congratulate you guys. You guys actually go into the next room or else they're just going to focus on more. I will I would like to go into the room and look for the highest ranking or at least most important looking person in the room.

Yes, you find a perotian male that you met during that you saw during the interviewing phase. I don't believe you directly saw them, but you probably seen them three monitor or some such quarrel, at least kind of introduced you at one point, but they were probably off doing other things. They're sort of like a jittery type of person, but they look formal. They have their suit on or sort of like jumpsuit on.

We did like a whole lead. Yes. Yeah. I will go up to them.

Whoever he is. His name is Jackers Ornate and he puts a hand out to you sort of like a cloth hand. He says, Oh, congratulations on surviving Coro's last trial. I'll take his hand in my cold metal hand and I'll shake it.

Mr. Ornate, maybe you could enlighten me a little bit. What exactly did we do? Well, none of us were actually available to we couldn't see anything beyond that.

Coro said his last trial was private. We've seen all the other trials though. They've been fantastic seeing them on the big screen, viewing them from space. The such a match.

I especially liked. But the last trial, he said very specifically that, well, he said if we watched it, our brains would explode. And if Coro says something like that, we tend to believe him understood. Yes.

It's just that, you know, it's all a little fuzzy as it were. And I'd like to better understand what exactly it was that we accomplished in the room. I would describe it to you. However, I don't want to melt your brains.
