Goody Space Cadets, episode nine of the Denibulous Knights. The Space Game of the SHU Podcast universe. I am your Game Master for this game, Cody Booker. And with me, I have some wonderful, wonderful, wonderful people who are going to be playing the Space Game with me.

And the first off is Eli. Hello, everyone. I'm here, I think. Hopefully, there are some things, mind-bending things that happen last time, that you might need some help for it.

I mean, so ever since that, I've had moments where I've legitimately called reality into the question. So, I don't know if I'm actually here, I don't know if any of this is going on, both in-game and out-of-game. So, we'll see what happens. One thing about this episode is that Eli and the rest of the crew have recorded separately, because we can really get our schedules online.

But I'm going to try to mash them together as what seems appropriate. So bear with me a little bit, but we can introduce the rest of the crew. I'm an evil wizard. And Michael?

And Mike. Hi, I'm a monk. And Robert. Yeah, all right.

I'll just completely blank on him. Robert, I'm so glad you didn't cover that thing, because it makes me feel so much better. Hi, folks. With introductions of our good, good space, boys.

I'm an evil wizard. Why don't we have the wizard show us with a little show of their own to tell us what happened last time? Oh, yeah. So, we went and fought Bone Star as a legend sister or something, and then it turned out that it wasn't real.

And then Carl Sagan was dead. Damn. Just dropping bombs left and right. That was the highlights, right?

Am I wrong? Yeah, basically. We had the highlight reel of our past experiences that we had to relive. Mirage has a little freak out over some bugs.

Shama's woken up by plant friend. Sean plants a new seed out in a park. Morgan's anthop eat Grace Lime. Bone Star chats at Mirage about why bounty hunters are after her.

Mirage goes to holodeck or something in library. More to net. Oh, that was like last episode. That was the episode before last.

The next days I have after that are about four mongers. We started out with the cold open where we are all walking into. Oh, here we go. Oh, here we go.

Cody makes beach. Quarle has recreated a spiral galaxy. We meet the bone sis. She's a dom.

And something about Jackers ornate seppetta. Herochian mail. Jackers ornate. Oh, yeah.

Jackers ornate is the one of the highly members of... Hiringing officials on the ship. Actually, they were in the initial meeting between like both Star Quarle and Jackers ornate was there when he was interviewing both. Oh, he's the fishmaker.

Yeah, he's fishmakers. Yeah, he's fishmakers. Yeah. Those are my guys.

Also, Quarle is dead. Yep. Speaking of which, that's kind of how we load things up today. I can go ahead and stick.

And everybody graduated Space College or whatever. We're all full-fledged members now. Yep. Well, I'm sorry.

Always was. And technically, all of you guys were. It just seems like this is sort of some deeper thing. No one seems to understand what you guys did in that last room.

Everyone seems to know what you guys did in the previous trials. Just not this most recent one. They're welcoming you, but it doesn't seem like anyone else actually had to go through these trials. Would you say they're welcome with arms wide open?

With arms wide over all. And I. Oh, welcome to this place. Welcome to space.

Ah. So, yeah. So you guys had a little party, everything sort of like went down there, but we're going to actually just take it to the next day. I know it was sort of like a book ending of a thing, but we're just going to take it to the next day because whenever you guys all wake up, the very first thing that is in your guys's memos today, sort of like sent to each of your personal computers or whatever you use, you have a memo that today, around in the morning, probably around like eight cycle of eight, I don't know, that there is going to be a funeral for quarrels who gone.

Wait, is this 800 hours or is this 20 hundred hours? 800 hours. Zero 800 hours. Okay.

Yes. So it's going to be very, very early in the morning. That is not early. Is it not early?

That is not early. That is eight o'clock in the morning. For some of us, maybe. Depends on how militarized the nebulous nights are.

Right. It's pretty nebulous. It's space time. So I have a question for all of you.

Who goes to quarrels who gone funeral? It does say in the memo that this isn't all hands. Oh, yeah, I'll go. Sorry.

I will go. I'll work as a greeter because I'm not allowed in the main room after the last being related. Okay. I guess more questions about that.

I guess Juniper is definitely going to be there because it's if it's all hands that they need as many hands as possible. I'm ejecting you out on airlock some point. Fair. But Mark's going to be there.

Yeah. She was going as well. Yeah. She was going.

And what about you Eli? What is Maraj going to do? Is she coming? Although Maraj didn't care for quarrel.

All things considered, she would still go at the very least to keep up appearances. So all of you guys kind of make your way down there. Maraj seems to be already out and about. They seem to have left a little bit earlier.

And you guys got to get there a little bit earlier as people are sort of like going in. The all hands is in the docking bay is on the seventh deck. When you guys get up there, it is basically the large room. You see like ships kind of like at the top of the ceiling of the room sort of like suspended above.

You see the deck itself is just sort of open and you see on either side you actually see openings out into space and you see a shimmer of a field of energy that sort of protects the inside and outside from space. Oh, this is like the end of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Oh, damn. Yeah.

I thought about doing that. But then I think I watched that when I was writing this, but I was like, no, I can't do that. But there is a podium sort of it one side of the room where there is like a little makeshift stage. It's nothing too fancy.

I'm not going to go to the podium up there and you see several of the high ranking officials sort of milling about. There's also a few other people sort of milling about up here too. They're sort of connecting wires and connecting things. You've seen Octomaine.

He's sort of like running across the stage while writing something in a little notepad. He's gathering a wire hooking up to the podium. You actually see a female of a goryon. She's sort of like sweeping up and sort of clean up some like debris that they had from like making stuff.

But everyone else seems to be milling around in front of the stage. And after a while, you actually see the high commander herself is here as our as our just described her again from last time. She's like very tall has a mask in the front of her face that sort of like hides her features. It almost looks like an oni mask sort of like hollow eyes, but you can't see past a certain point.

It's got like devil horns and a weird strange smirk. She's got like a layers and layers of metal kind of down her body layered on top of one another. And she's up there with the rest of them. You actually recognize Jackers ornate as one of the other higher officials that are up there as well.

After a while, you sort of like look around the room and you notice that Mirage walks in. She sort of in the back kind of far away from you guys. But you do notice someone come up to you guys? It's dusty.

He is the the coolest that was helping you guys with some of the trials. And he was with you guys at the party and he kind of walks up to you guys. How you mates doing? You guys feeling right?

I know some people here, some people here don't really like the old man, but he's kind of an asshole to be sure. Not glad he died though. Yeah, well he did. He was slowly responsible for you getting crushed.

So he sort of like looks around. I told you that I told you all that that was just a fake, right? You didn't see me? Did you not see me wrapped up in just like bandages upon bandages when they took me out of the thing?

Blood all over the place. I know he points over to an Octomaine in one of the corners. And he says, I go over there. That's a good old cart.

He's actually a mechanic, but he's also he's also he used to work in a film. He's a pretty good a set actor. Oh, it was all practical facts. Yeah.

Huh. Trust me, if you need anything from him, he's I swear, he's like a dam. He's a dam octa, octa knife. He's got everything in there, including a beak.

He's like, man, because the can opener part. Nice. So just he's just kind of like look around. So have you guys been since the whole thing?

Welcome, by the way, welcome to Debbie Snites. I guess I can't really say that because we kind of got hired in at the same time. Yeah, but it really feels like we're off like the probationary period already or whatever. Guys, what are you guys?

Because every time I try to talk to someone else about the last trial, no one seems to be able to tell me what happened. I mean, I'm a hacker gorkin. No, no, no, no. I'm pretty sure that he's a guard.

No, I mean, they keep talking like you're some sort of like spec ops or something. Work shrugs like, oh, I mean, if you can't tell me guys, you just can't tell me. I understand. I mean, we can't tell you because we weren't told anything either.

So far, the training missions, like the, like the Mac battle and the space dodge, the avoidance sphere game, like it was an extra trial like that except extra weird. No. All right. All right.

And he just sort of like looks around for a bit. I know I keep forgetting Dusty's actual voice. I'm sorry, but Dusty sort of like that's what I was. I'm pretty sure.

Uh, were we explicitly told not to tell anyone about what was going on in there? I don't think so. So Markle probably shrug and go like, eh, it was, it was a trippy mind fuck 3D mental race kind of thing, but it's really hard to describe. You literally had to be there.

Dusty sort of like, well, looks at you, raise an eyebrow and just as I guess. So maybe they let someone else try it out for once. Sounds pretty fun, at least. Yeah, it was like, it wasn't bad.

It was. Do you like having your life flash before your eyes? Cause that happened a few times in there. Dusty shakes his head.

Not, not really. Oh man, you got to try it at least once really puts everything in perspective. I got you. Well, uh, I got a, I got to get going guys.

Uh, I hope everything's going all right. Uh, I'll see you later. And he sort of like walks off into the crowd. You notice that Dusty is sort of like not wearing his usual suit.

Most of the people here aren't wearing their usual outfits. A lot of them are wearing darker colors. There's a few other people that seem to be wearing brighter colors. Uh, you notice them on mostly the species of the proportions.

And they're sort of like wearing a brighter colors except for the perotio on stage. Jakers are neat. It's at this point, Mirage enters the docking bay from the rear. Mirage sort of looks around the area and you notice a few things.

You notice that there is a large influx of artificial intelligence or AI is that are here. A lot of robots, a lot of them are usually kind of deviating from the regular humanoid structure or something, even looking like a you, uh, uh, robotic versions of the Octomains. But it seems like you've noticed that there isn't a lot of robots on the Billy Knight HQ ever since you arrived. And it seems strange that they would all appear now.

As you enter, you also Mirage, you pick up sort of a, uh, psionic link to someone else. Um, another of your people of the years actually, there's just like a brief flash of the psionic link and then it's just sort of immediately dies. Uh, even though it was only a brief flash, you actually catch in the crowd, someone who has, uh, sort of long, uh, braids like you do. And as you sort of get that like sonic link, they actually turn to you and you see, it's another female veers and she seems to be smiling at you.

She has a lot of beads in her hair. Uh, she's actually wearing a long, uh, flowing colorful dress, which is in stark contrast to a lot of the other people that are around. A lot of the other people in here are wearing sort of like black suits and sort of a morning attire. What are you wearing currently?

Or are you just kind of sort of wearing your normal outfit? I think the veers, because like black and, and more dark and neutral colors are associated with being it or I think the veers as a race view death as a celebration of the person's life rather than as a time to be sorrowful. Like there's still that sorrow, you know, built into it because there is this loss, but as a whole, it's, it's more viewed as they have moved on from the cycle of suffering. So I think Mirage is also wearing something kind of colorful because I think that's, that would be what the veers standard garb for a funeral type thing would be.

So Mirage is still wearing her long duster, but she has a bright yellow blouse on and bright purple slacks. Mm. And she also has a scarf on that is black and purple swirled. You sort of lock eyes with this other veers for a second and she gives you sort of the up and down and there's like a slight smirk.

You sort of see one like fang sort of appear, although most people would recognize this as it seems like a devious and or hostile motion. It's definitely like a smirk. You also catch another sign of clink as you notice from across the way, another veers in the all hands contrary to what you were saying before. There is a veers male figure who is not really that tall.

You usually kind of see veers as tall and posing figures. Even the males are usually pretty large. This one is a little bit shorter and he is actually wearing a dark black suit, sort of like pinstripe and he sort of like glances out of the corner of his eye and then sort of stuff something underneath his jacket as a lot of the people sort of like lead into the crowd. You've gotten here a little bit later than the rest.

You sort of see scattered throughout the crowd as the rest of your team. But as you're sort of being pushed in by the people behind you, you see the lights of the docking bay sort of dim a little bit and light up here on the stage. But after a while, you see people start to calm down. Is there anything you guys wanted to do before or look for anybody to talk to or anything?

Bone Star, they will let you into the into the docking bay with a very, very strict warning that Kurt will take all of your bones if you don't behave. He he's kind of been eating one of the floral arrangements while he's watching people go in. So he seems like a really downcast and moody and he just kind of slowly walks into the room and hangs his head stands on the back wall. He's wearing nothing except for a pair of jeans.

Are you anywhere near the rest of the group or no? He's specifically trying to keep his distance because he got in trouble last time. Now is like they're reviewing for coral or is he a tiny cascade or something or? You actually see that they have put his mech on the stage, but it isn't.

It's just sort of there, like kind of like an endaully, but like set aside in a sort of like, you know, they take pictures at prom where they have that little archway and like a bunch of flowers and shit. Yeah, it's kind of like in the middle of one of those, but like put in the back a selfie platform for the funeral. So we can pose with his mech and do whatever we want with it now that he can't say no. Not that he didn't say no before.

We can kick me side on this back. Right. Right. You could if you wanted to.

I'm pretty sure that some of the other bounty hunters here probably tried to do the same thing with selfies, but very specifically all of you were bounty hunters. That's what the nights are. It's a collection of bounty hunters that do good. I feel very, I feel like a very bad GM for just having you realize this now.

Like I thought that we were kind of off the book space police. But yeah, me too. Basically, anyway, so all of you guys are sort of a sort of in here. You're trying to look for like the casket.

You definitely do see like the mech sort of like in a little pedestal, whatnot. But you also noticed since you're from the right, what sort of Italian if you were on any space fairing vessel, you know, most of these burials are used in sort of like a missile torpedo tube that shot out into space, but they have like one sort of next to one of the exits sort of like in the docking bay itself and you actually can see like a pod that has like a see through window and like everything is sort of like flowers and whatnot all around it, except the see through window is completely blackened. So the kind of thing where normally they don't have to worry about close casket stuff. But this time they might like, oh, yeah, nobody wants to see that.

So goopy. I mean, maybe. It's usually an open like an open like can see thing, but for this one, it's not. And we have no idea why.

So if you guys wait around for the Oh, it's not dead. There are a few of the higher notables from WSN HQ as a whole. There is some people who are introduced. One of the ones is the Octomaine that was running around sort of like putting things together.

They introduce themselves as Kurt collective burden. There is also another person who is on stage who that you've met before is actually one of the people who was in your interview along with Quarosugan and and along with you and the star. He introduces himself as Jackers or Nate and he's the one who takes the podium. Perotian is sort of like a combination of between a parrot and a fish.

They have like bright shining scales, the feathers along their heads, usually beaks and claws, but are typically don't look as imposing as they usually do. Jackers or Nate actually has on something similar to what the viewers would wear, sort of a colorful patterns to his outfit. It looks like he's wearing some sort of a kilt, but only with brighter colors, sort of like a tropical bright blues, bright pinks and he addresses you all. We are here today to mourn the passing of Quarosugan, one of our highest members of the HQ itself.

We have all probably seen him in passing either in his mecca or through the videos that he used to make. He was trying to be quite the entrepreneur with that, but it was just a silly thing he'd like to do. His cooking show was really quite ridiculous, but he liked to have fun with it. Quarosugan is still an amazing figure and he will always be remembered.

He was the one who collected most of us along with the high commander. The two of them sort of brought all of us together to sort of serve the sector as knights, as people who are here to defend and to help those in need. Quarosugan had a lot of that in him. He always wanting to find someone to help, always wanting to find some person in need to assist.

His methods might have been anachronistic or a bit much sometimes, but he was a teacher in a way, probably not the most traditional ways, but he always taught me something every day. He was always willing to learn to, trying to reach out to those who were in need. I'm going to miss him and his ridiculous memos every morning, but we have had a great loss today, but we've also had a great gain in our past. And now to speak a few words for Quarosugan is the high commander.

I was going to say, can I say that during this speech, Bonsar is trying to sneak across the ceiling, like not like leave all of his bones in a pile in the corner of the room and then slowly try to make his way towards the podium and hope that no one notices him just as a floating sun. Okay. Do me a favor and roll a stealth? Holy shit.

I got it too. Okay, that's actually pretty decent. I'm actually going to have to get dice out. I think this will happen.

Does Bonsar have stealth at all? God, no. That makes it even better. It was good.

You did leave your bones behind, so I'm going to say that counts for something. Okay. No shit. All right.

It doesn't seem like anyone's easier. Okay, good. I'm just he's going to be trying to sneak up towards the podium. Once things start wrapping up, he'll make his move.

Can have a quick question. Does he want to go to the podium to say something? No, he wants to steal the body and emulate it. That's how he shows respect to people that have been kind to him.

And that's why he keeps getting in trouble because he runs funerals. Bonsar makes his way across the ceiling a little bit, but you see someone else stand up from the back. It is the high commander herself. She stands up and she approaches the podium.

And she looks around the room for a bit. She's very intimidating in this sort of full body armor. And everyone begins to hush. Have we met her before?

Yes. She was the one who met you after the ceremony. She was also the one who told you that your trial was complete. Okay.

The one that we didn't believe at first because we weren't sure what was real and what was not. It's not real. So she approaches the podium and she waits until things are absolutely quiet. The only thing you can hear is like the hum of the working machines.

And even though that they have a mask on, you can kind of hear them fairly clearly. Cross with gone was an asshole. He was an absolute bear to deal with. Every day I had to deal with complaints.

With people coming up to me asking why would you hire such a person? He bugged the crap out of me every single day about this or that complaining himself, actually. Over how the knights were structured and how I'm not doing my job correctly. He would constantly get in trouble when we first met.

I don't know how many times I had to pay off the Jenkins Corporation or the Giants Corps. It doesn't even matter at this point. What matters is he's gone now and I don't have to deal with his bullshit. Most of the crowd sort of has a similar reaction.

A lot of them start cracking up laughing. But on a serious note, I'm not sure if many of you recognize Coral Sugan from before. Before Nabil's knights was founded. There was a certain hacker by the name of Driston Cordex.

Everyone would make me a lore. Anyone has any types of things to do with hacking? I'm going to say both. The Matthew, Xanthrop and both Morg will have a plus two illness.

Oh thank god because I have no lore. I rolled a perfect critical success for pluses. I don't know what that means for a game lore role. I ended up with a plus two.

I ended up with a plus four. I want a zero. You unfortunately don't know anything about this. It's like a hacker kind of high techy thing.

But Xanthrop, you recognize the name of Driston Cordex as sort of like a nefarious person who likes to bully the corporations. A lot of times he would go in and shut down people's securities and then he would help a lot of people go in and rob things. Or he would just simply take a bunch of data from some corporations and then just lock it down and never give it back. To the point where anytime you use on the news, it was a big ordeal.

Sort of like how anonymous was a few years ago. Only like they suspected it heavily to be a single person. Morrie, you kind of know a little bit the same but you know sort of like in the deep web you actually saw him post a few times on a few boards. And anytime that you saw him there was no way to get to him.

Like there was always proxies upon proxies. And you saw him take several different missions but in fact you actually saw him take some other missions as well. I hesitate calling the missions because he did things like set up servers on people's like backwater world places. So they could actually connect to the net as a whole.

Like he set things up like that. Philanthropic side jobs. Yes, very much so. To the point where like you're not sure which side he's on because he's also done a lot of like getting in people who don't just steal things but getting in people to assassinate some people.

There was actually assassination a long time ago on the off domain world of like one of their ambassadors and it is known very well that he was one of the people who let that happen. Bone star. You got a critical success and I'm going to say that the reason you know all this is because he's told you. Oh, he has literally laid everything out for you.

Perfect. I have a perfect memory of whatever occurred. You probably don't have an exact memory but he tells you about a lot of the bad things he did. In fact he probably has told you about the millions of people that he killed setting up some basically world destroying weapons at some points.

That's pretty heavy. Yeah, like no one has ever heard of it because it's just like some thing that he found and then he just sort of hit a few buttons, hired a few people. And kind of just went to the echoes of space and he regrets that and that's what he told you. He said I'm going to join the Nebuilus Knights because I think they can help a lot of people.

Okay, so I kind of I've seen him personally kind of change and grow then. Yes. Okay. At least be less murdery.

Yes. Very much less murdery. Get out of his every belly is teen murder years. The bounty hunter's in on Mirage.

It didn't seem like a damn thing to him. It didn't seem like a betrayal. It just like it was a thing that had to be done. And I guess it puts that kind of thing into context for a bit where it's like, oh, he called he only called in two bounty hunters instead of calling in a missile strike.

That's a bit better. Matthew, you're muted. Sorry. Quick question since Eli took his headphones off.

So we are bounty hunters, but we hired bounty hunters for Mirage. Why do they take Mirage in ourselves because we're bounty hunters. You could if you want to do that. Okay.

Thank you. You are definitely freelance people like your in Nebuilus Knights, they provide you for whatever you want to do as long as you provide for the Nebuilus Knights. Do we know how much of a bounty is on his head, her head? If that's something you want to look up, you could.

You don't know it now. Okay, thanks. Here's my question. How many of us have bounties on our heads?

I know the bones are yours. I think you would have to look. Bones are you definitely know several bounties on your head? Oh, yeah.

I owe everybody money. Bones are just to have a bounty on his head. Ooh. As some of you sort of recollect this name sort of pull things from your memory, she continues.

Tistan was, well, he was a nuisance to most of the sector. No one could find out where he went. No one could crack through his multiple layers of security. He would always find Wiggle his way into something and he would pull some sort of data out.

Tistan was like another person inside of Chorosu Ghan. It was a need to know things. So much so that he delved so deeply into whatever was consumed by it. And I'm here to tell you that Chorosu Ghan passed because he was consumed by the knowledge that I wanted him to know.

He was instrumental in doing something that the nebulous knights should be proud of. Something that no one else could ever do. He gave his life on me and I wish to commemorate him in his passing. I will always remember Tistan and I will always remember Chorosu Ghan.

And with that, you hear a sort of alarm go off. It's not too loud. They seem to have made some repairs or like modifications to it. But you see off in the docking bay, there is a little shuttle tube that is sort of like decorated.

And you see shot out into space, a small little pod. And you know this as a burial ceremony for a lot of spacefaring people. And with that, all of you are dismissed from the all hands. While that happens, Shum, I would like you to make an empathy roll during this.

Okay. That is possible. There's been something kind of bugging you since last night. Your little friend has been busy.

They have made it all the way from the Arboretum in one of the lower docks in one of the lower decks. All the way up to the docking bays. And in fact, even to the deck above you, you can feel they have infiltrated everything at this point. And as this is going on, you sort of like feel them reach out to you again.

And they just ask, what's going on? In what context are they asking just the current event or the greater aspirations of the night? Definitely like the current like events right now. They go, what's going on?

You hesitate a second. And they ask, why is everyone in that room? We are paying our respects to apparently a great man who's done a lot for a lot of people, because he's not longer with us. Sort of hesitates for a second.

Are you going to be like that? A great man or gone? You ask that and you get this strange feeling that it's pulling on wires in here between the walls. And it just says, you can be both.

I have too much to do to be gone, but I will become great. Are these people important to you? All the ones around you right now? If you leave, I can get rid of them.

Okay. Xiaomi is now very much, seeing the era. This is a card. These people are very important to make every one of them.

Everyone recommend a notice roll. Zero actually have a notice. Nice. Plus three.

Oh, Shiny, can I notice rolls on? That's a minus two. Plus one. Zantrop.

Yeah. You notice that one of the force fields that blocks from you from space flashes a little bit. Like the backup had to be activated at that point. And then it switches back.

Is it something like I can say like a port or something I can connect to and run like diagnostics on? Yes. I would like to do that. You sort of make your way through the crowd and plug it into some diagnostics.

Go ahead and make me a little roll. Oh, okay. Would you say this is mentally absorbing? I would say so, yes.

Oh, good, because that was not a good roll. So plus two. You sort of look through some of the logs. You notice that the power in this section has gone down for a split second.

You're thinking maybe it's because of the extra supplies that they put up here. Well, I don't have like my external speakers turned on. I would want to radio to maintenance or engineering and let them know. Excuse me.

I'm just here down at the funeral and we seem to be having some issues with the spaces, the compartments at power. It seems to be not working great. You get a quick message back. Kind of this weird kind of like wavering voice.

No, no, no, no, no, I see the problem here. I'm going to try to go down and see if I can fix it right now. We can have some issues because, you know, the funeral's gone on. So I just got to get to it.

I'm up on stage right now. So let the boss lady kind of speak a little quick and then I'll get to it. So he says that. And what I'll do is I will separately send a message to other individuals in the room, just like on their data pads to notify them that there's something going on with the power with the power.

The power. What do you, you don't really notice anything going on, but they seem to be distracted at this moment. Um, that's not, not sure what Sean would do. I think if Sean, you hesitate for a bit.

It sort of retracts a little bit from you, not like as it's trying to like slip away, but it comes away from you. Just a little bit. Just a very slight amount. And you feel it sort of start to pull away from the docking area.

As the ceremony itself wraps up and the missile has been fired into space. Everyone feels a space station rock ever so slightly and bone star. You see the missile starts to drift out into space. What do you do?

I am going to do my best to stay out of the way and unnoticeable. And so I can follow the missile out and eat the missile in space instead of disrupting the funeral. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I'm going to do my best to play by the rules.

It's a special day. You find another poorly nothing like eating a missile in space. Just a quick little space snack. I kind of don't want you to.

Not that. I don't want to make you roll something for this, but I kind of do. Okay. I mean, he's like a space corner china at this point, right?

Roll me a burglary to escape the docking bay without alerting anybody. That's a flat zero. Well, you got to tell me. You got to do burglary.

Oh geez, yeah. So too. I want to give you an advantage here so you can make me do it. So I can do it.

Yeah. Cody just let him do it. No, or just give me a trouble. I don't care.

I know I know I'm jumping the line. That's the point. I'm just going to eat them bones. Yeah.

So touch just got to make stuff happen. All right. Well, you seem to get out pretty fine. You make your way out into space and sort of, you know, catch on to the missile as it's being launched in the space.

The rest of you sort of see coral sugones missile being launched. Is there like a special farewell group like goodbye that anyone gives species wise or? I'm sure there is some customary thing that the guard do where we maybe just dismantle their mech and scrap it for money as is tradition. As is tradition.

As is tradition. As you go further the mech and you would dismantle it trying to reverse engineer it to determine if there are any advancements on that mech that are better than our own and then we would try to adapt them onto our own mechs. Got you. For science.

I think as you watch the missile kind of going out, you notice a few artificial intelligence, some sentient AI, some synthetic AI robots. Yes. Over by. It's high flute words.

No, the robots robots over by cross cons mech, which is odd because so far you guys haven't seen any robots in the business nights HQ was that is that's probably on us. We probably weren't noticing them because we were you know, we're species like that. Mechanicalists. Mechanicalists.

Do any of you actually have a thing against mechanoid sentience? Nope. Nope. Oh, sorry.

They have no bones. They've got cool shit to steal. They're good to know. You notice some of the other robots and there's another guard here sort of dismantling his mech sort of underneath the little archway.

I got to get in on that tradition. You go over there and get in on it? Yeah, I get in on that tradition. There is a sorri, so it's just sort of sitting kind of outside.

They have one of their sort of one of the other people that have called for clothing on. He's actually just got like a floral shirt on it like just Hawaiian shirt basically. But that's all they have on space. Why?

Planet Hawaii. Oh, why? Hawaii. Hawaii.

Five of the Hawaii system. But they put a pile. Hey buddy, what you what you doing here? Oh, yes.

I'm here to honor the the the the dead. Oh, right, right, right. Oh, that's what they get it from. That's where they get it from.

Okay. All right. All right. You can come on in.

It's more of a, you know, this is a respect for the intelligence of the individual where we want to assimilate their technological advances, bring it out into the guard society and improve upon it as a tradition. You see his eyes cross a little bit as you continue talking. Well, science. Yeah.

Yeah. Look, I just I just take out of the bar tonight, man. I just didn't want you to interrupt him. It seemed like that's probably where they got it from.

They kind of do the same thing. I've been taking care of them for a bit now. They just, you know, they had to get they had to get away for a bit, you know, how commanders orders and whatnot. I'm sorry.

Where are they normally if they're not with the rest of us? We had it. We had to take a little trip. We had to take a little trip.

Have you heard of the Ticin? Of course I have. Every God knows of that planet or place. All right.

Cause the the oils there, the oils are great for like the mechanic and stuff. They do a little bathing. It's like all expense pay indication for them. You know what I'm saying?

I do enjoy a good minu-ro-bath myself. Yes. It's like hot springs, but oil. Yeah.

It's like in the in that historical film, a recent hope in which the golden android robot must be dipped into hot oils to clean him from all of that nasty gritty sand in his bits. Yeah. Praise the maker. Glory be unto him.

I've decided that Morg is next to a two-santheroth by the way. Okay. Does Mark put on a shirt for funerals? Or is he jumping out at this point?

Morg doesn't always walk around just shirtless. He usually does wear his jumpsuit at the very least a wife beater on covering his nipmops. Gotta do that. Gotta bring out the old funeral romper.

I also have questions as we're asking about like a tire. What would a chomp be in a funeral attire? Would he just wear his regular standard clothing? Flowers?

I don't think charm has really any other clothing. That's all he's got on his back. I kind of want to say shopping episode. I honestly like to think that we have the standard white with gold trim nebulous knights jumpers, but there's also the stealth slash funerary jumper that's black with gold trim.

I like that. That's nice. Okay. The sandrout just recently cleaned his mech.

You always have to hand wash it before a funeral, you know, get it nice and shiny. It's presentable for, you know, such an occasion. Got to buff out all those scratches. You don't want that to like that.

You shouldn't reflect on the person. Yeah. It's a pride thing. Yeah.

So this Oresier sort of like puts out a hand to kind of shake it with you. Yeah, I'm one of the upcoming HR that needs some help down there. So they kind of called me in. I'm a kid's calican.

I'm sorry, kid's calican. Yes, kid's calican. That's a beautiful name. What does it mean?

It's like a weird like old Soreese sort of like saying. Oh, yeah. So they do the say-ins too of planet Vegeta. Oh, yeah.

Those guys. Yes, proud warrior race. Yes, a proud prince. Hashtag preference.

They all look like cartoons too. Yeah, they get the weird hair. They're like loads upwards. I don't understand it.

Did you know that they're born with tails and if they look directly at the light of the moon, not the sun, which is reflected off the moon, but at the moon's light, they turn into giant great apes. He shows you his own rat tail, like his own like melcy tail and he goes, Oh shit. Does that mean I'm saying? Well, they have a saying, you know, it's all about that blood.

Do you have that say in blood? I'm not sure. But that's what I'm saying though. I'm not sure.

I don't think you're saying. No, you don't think I'm saying? I don't think you'll say. Okay, I'll show you what you're saying.

If you were saying. I was saying. This is insane. Maybe we will be saying things.

Yes, we'll probably start playing. This is excellent funeral chatter, but I must be getting to the ceremony. For tradition. For tradition.

Yes, besides. He sort of backs out of your way, but you start getting at it with that. But if that's all I think I will I will stay behind and say, Hey, a shotgun. Can you witness something for me?

Who would I? And work kind of rolls up one of his sleeves, curved into his flesh with what looks to be a very sharp knife or maybe a laser. There's an image on one of the bare spots on Morg's arm of Carl's mech and Morg's just going to focus and clear the mild consequence of cut skin. And he's going to see if it leaves a scar because I've decided that in hacker culture, whenever there's a funeral for someone in your chain of command or extended family unit or whatever, that you carve a picture of them into your flesh.

And if it leaves a scar behind, then they actually left an impact on your life. And if it doesn't, then they weren't too important. Do we want to leave this up to a role? I'm okay with leaving it up to a role.

Is it you have to roll high for it to leave a mark or low for it to leave a mark? Is it based on your regeneration? Yes. Well, since I'm a fast healer, it would all depend on how well I shrug it off.

I guess, but I'm kind of thinking of making just a flat fate dice role and as kind of a luck track to see how it goes. So high, it leaves a scar low and if it's flat neutral, it's there, but it's really faded. And that is a net minus one. So close enough that it's there, but you have to squint to see it, I'd say.

Okay. You see kind of he squints a little bit to look at it. He's like, is that a why'd you draw a donger on your arm there? Yeah, it was supposed to be because he was a dick.

Well, gork in tradition, trying to see if how much of an impact he left on my life and I left a bit of a mark. Thank you. It doesn't work quite the same if someone isn't actually watching when it happens. So.

Yeah. You could you could call that. Oh, I was probably I just got here. So with the with the guys.

Yeah, I probably wasn't here at the time, but you probably called me up. I just came back with the bots, you know, but if you anything, let me know, because you know how I was going to say the other guy, but kind of like walked away because, you know, if you can't kiss Colican, because that's my name. Get it is funny. All right.

Cool. Yeah. All right. I'm good.

I'm going to pass you on the chest and walk away. See a shotgun. He flips you off with his mouth, his middle finger. Work.

Chuckles and say, okay. See, yeah. As everyone sort of leads to the docking bay. Mirage.

You turn around and you see a sight. The high commander is actually upon you as everyone sort of turns. You sort of see her behind you standing there. And she looks down at you.

Mirage is it. Yes. There is someone I would like you to meet. Do we have to do this now?

As you can see, I'm clearly still in mourning. You can't see the smile on her face, but it's obviously there when she says it can wait, but I don't want you to fall to the same fate that Coros Wubon did. I think hearing that Mirage will go with her because the images from Carl from Quarles had been playing through Mirage's head and she wants to find out more. And at the very least, this will give her a way to hopefully find out more information about the things she saw.

The high commander sort of turns and leads you out of a side passageway, kind of not the usual way people get out of the docking bay. And she leads you through a very strange hallway. Most of the hallways in Nebula Night's HQ are sort of metallic, so they have bands of yellow and the other colors. She leads you through a hallway.
