We interviewed Eric Majette Jr, who Dick Gregory referred to as the ‘Gatekeeper of the Jewels’. Mr. Majette is a historian and founder of the African-American Cultural Heritage Collection (AACHC) and owner of the original collection of Madam C.J. Walker artifacts. The over-fictionalization done in this movie constitutes an opposition to the truth and was intentional. Kasi Lemmon, the director utilized the same approach when directing “Harriett” and we were equally enraged.
