Negotiation Skills: Effective Communication

Negotiation skills; Today we're going to be talking about one of the most important skills in life: negotiation. I used to be absolutely TERRIFIED of negotiating anything – from salary to projects to just plain asking for what I wanted. I would often just accept whatever was offered and avoid confrontation at all costs. But as I progressed in my career, I realized that this fear was holding me back. I wasn't getting what I deserved and wasn't feeling fulfilled in my work. So, I decided to take the leap and work on my negotiation skills. And let me tell you, it was CRINGY at first. I stumbled over my words, mumbled, and made all sorts of awkward small talk. But slowly, I started to get better. I read books, took courses, and practiced with friends and family. And eventually, it paid off – big time. I started asking for what I wanted, and I actually started getting it. That's all for today's episode of the Growth Mind Academy Podcast. I hope you found this discussion on negotiation skills helpful and informative. Remember, negotiation skills are essential in both our personal and professional lives, and can help us achieve our goals and objectives more effectively.
